I was looking for a new kitchen bin and already knew of the reputation of Simplehuman. After a little research I quickly decided to invest in the 30L butterfly pedal bin. Arriving quickly I was surprised at how compact the unit is (smaller than I expected in comparison to the photo's however for me this is not a negative) I was so pleased to see that the stainless steel finish truly is finger print proof! I really do not like stainless steel products as it marks and scratches so easily and is a nightmare to keep clean. Thankfully this is not something I need to worry about with this bin! The bin itself is very smart and discreet and you really can see the quality in every aspect. The unit is lightweight yet robust and easy to handle. The bin is functional as the butterfly lids allow full access to the can (unlike my previous Typhoon Capsule pedal bin which had a tiny opening making it difficult to scrape plates etc) I like the way in which smaller details have been thought of such as the soft close function and how you can prop the lids open for longer use and bag changes. There is even a built in rest enabling you to tilt the plastic bucket at an angle allowing for easier bag changes. I have also purchased the Simplehum can liners and will continue to do so. They fit perfectly and ensure no liner is seen when the lids are closed. Not only that but they are strong and well constructed with reinforced seams and useful tie handles. I am the kind of person who will invest in a quality item and if you are looking for a new kitchen bin that will not only function perfectly and look great in your kitchen then look no further; you've just found it!

My bin was delivered this morning, it is absolutely beautiful & perfect too. Very well made & a bag of bin liners included which I wasn't expecting so nice surprise. Looks very smart in our bathroom. Quite a lot of money for a bin but definitely worth it and it has a 10 year warranty. I am very pleased with my purchase. I can certainly recommend Simple Human.

we needed to upgrade in the kitchen and really searched for a quality smallish bin, this one is superb. Not cheap but well worth it. Well made, foot operated, fits in a small space, closes itself slowly - no noise.

The best bins you can buy. My last Simplehuman lasted 15 years and we only changed it as the shape did not fit the new property bin location, they are solid made out of premium stainless and may be expensive however they are made to last.

A great design. Good looking and versatile in narrow space while still being effective. The foot pedal is great and the butterfly wing lid means no more knocking into adjacent structures. It just works.

I have a very small kitchen and this bin is one of very few that fit into a little alcove next to the kitchen. It arrived very quickly after ordering and I've been using it for a couple of months now. It works well and is strong - my little grandson can stand on it without bending the top lids! The fingerprint-proofing is excellent as it always looks clean and shiny and the pedal means no hands involved in binning items. The bags are strong and we empty the bin only half as much as our last bin so that's good. We have purchased extra bags and they arrived within 2 days of order. My only complaint is that I wish the handle was at the front of the bin for me to pull it out of the alcove when needed rather than at the back!

I saw this bin at a friend;s and had to have one. Hefty price but even Hubby now says it was worth the cost. Swing bins were a pain with the dogs, press and pop up lids a nightmare with a plate of leftovers as you had to take the lid right off. This one looks great. too sturdy for dogs to knock over or get into and it just stays clean! The liners are pricey but they are good quality and a perfect fit. We LOVE it !

I was looking for a good bin with these kind of dimensions for the kitchen. There is no getting around it... it is expensive for a bin but... the butterfly opening, the sturdy, well built construction and general solid feel of the product gives me no regrets over my purchase. It is built to last and expect it to do so for many years. It also comes supplied with a trial pack of ten bin liners. These are also strong and well constructed. I would not pay £20+ for the 60 pack though but... they are readily available for significantly less from a well known auction site. Alternatively... the 10L bin is the ideal size to take standard carrier bags as liners. I'm happy with my purchase and would not hesitate to recommend.

I waited 3 years to buy this can, and I couldn't be more happy with it. It's beautiful and functional. I FINALLY have a trash bin is not a point of shame in my kitchen! It's pretty much a work of art, only better because it serves a purpose! The soft-close lid gives you enough time to drop in whatever refuse you need to, without having to keep your foot on the step. The butterfly lid closes flush with the can, leaving no leverage for dogs to be able to nose into the can—a problem we've had with every other trash can. No more having to remember to orient the can in a certain direction before leaving home in order to keep the dogs out. The interior plastic can lifts out easily and smoothly. The matching can liners fit the plastic can liner perfectly. As with any product, how satisfied you will be with the product depends on what you were looking for. One 1-star reviewer complained that this can doesn't contain odors, but nothing in the product description makes any claim that the can WOULD contain odors. That said, it does so far better than my old trash can did. If you regularly have stinky trash that you know will be sitting around for a few days before you remove it, you should exercise the same caution as you would with any other large can, and not put stinky stuff into it until you're ready to take out the trash. OR, buy a smaller can that forces you to take out the trash more frequently—this can comes in several sizes and this one is the largest-capacity model. Simple common sense. I don't clean out leftovers from my fridge until the trash is ready to go out anyway. This product is the answer to everything I hate about dealing with my trash, and could only be improved upon if it took out the trash itself. It comes with a 10 year warranty, and I'm sure I will have this can for longer than that—or a replacement if this one fails. I saved up for this to be able to afford the luxury, and it is worth ever penny. You won't be sorry you made this purchase. CUSTOMER SERVICE NOTE: the customer service for this vendor was incredible. I ordered my can, and it arrived slightly dented, even though the packaging was completely in tact. I groaned and was so disappointed, thinking that the return process was going to be such a pain in the butt. I even considered just living with the dent, except it was on the side that would not be facing a wall, and I paid so much for it I really felt I should have a new can in perfect condition. When I got on to Amazon and initiated the return/exchange process it was COMPLETELY PAINLESS! I stated what was wrong. I had the option of exchanging or returning with options to have a driver bring a label to my house and pick up the return! (Or to drop off someplace if I preferred.) And I didn't have to wait for my returned item to arrive before they sent a new one. I received my replacement can the next DAY! And the driver that dropped it off picked up my return and hauled it away. For an exchange, it was the most painless and convenient exchange I've ever had to deal with.
