I've been using this jewelry box for a few months now and haven't had any issues with the velvet lining getting dirty. It seems to repel dust and dirt quite well, which is a huge plus for me. And the ample storage space means I can keep all my jewelry organized and easily accessible.

Do the necklaces fall off when lid closes?

They do NOT fall off. The clips are firm and padded, but not so firm that a fine necklace would be damaged. Nice box.

Does the jewelry stay clean or does the fabric cause tarnishing?

I think NO,I haven’t had mine very long but so far it’s great!
