These come individually wrapped in sheets of 28 blocks so unused are always protected. They are basically like compressed, soaked fibrous cardboard that tear and break apart very easily so handy to use. I use them for my wood stove which is a very small Peanut 3. Previously I used dry tea bags lightly saturated in meths and kept in a sealed jar (good for recycling) and they light instantly and burn long enough to start a fire but can’t always be bothered with the process. These blocks are very good. I find they take slightly longer to light, a couple seconds using a windproof lighter but I need as little as 1/2 of one block under my jenga stacked kindling and they get it lit every time so excellent for my setup and will last me a long time with 320 cubes in the box, great value. I also notice no smell when they burn. Being processed in flat sheets also means they are neat and don’t take up too much space in a smaller box than loose packed fire lighters. Im happy with the product and would buy again.

These firelighters are really good for starting a fire, natural product, no odour.

A bit hard to break into cubes and a little hard to light - but once lit work and last very well .

I have been using these fire lighters for a few weeks and they are excellent. Just one small piece and a few sticks of kindling gets my fire going without any hassle so this large box will last me months. They are easy to light and one small piece burns for about ten minutes Much much better than the old white very smelly firefighters. And much cheaper. Highly recommend. They can be a bit hard to break up - I use a pair of pliers!

Great product, wonderful value and environmentally friendly

Really disappointed with these. Firstly they are difficult to separate - they come marked out like a bar of chocolate would be and you would expect to be able to break a square off but they do not break cleanly. Often the top splits from the bottom. Once you have got a square or two they are difficult to light - i have a gas lighter and so can hold the flame to them longer than a match. They dont smell which is a positive and they dont take up much space or make a mess but I do expect them to catch fire and then start the kindling off. I find it best to put in the fire on their sides so the rough edges are exposed and they burn quicker. I shalln't be buying these again unfortunately

I am on my 2nd box of these. They light instantly as long as you follow the instructions and light one of the rough edges. They burn for a good length of time and have never failed to light my log burner. My first box broke apart pretty easily. However the 2nd box seems to be a much harder block, now I'm a big 6 foot 2 oaf and even I struggled to break by hand. I can do it but honestly it hurts my hands. My wife though can't even get close. Regardless though I won't buy any other fire lighter now. I just chop them with a nice sharp kitchen knife. You still one rough edge to light when you do this which is all you need.

I'm continually looking for fire starters, ones that are reasonably priced and work well. I came upon these and decided to give it a try. I live in Michigan. It's December when they first arrived. I opened the backs, anxious to use it for my first fire. The bricks were so hard to break, most fire blox aren't that difficult. This morning, when I woke up and tried to start another fire. I grabbed for the sheet and they easily broke off. I'm very happy with the way this product works. I guess the cold weather and being on the truck before they were delivered to my house, probably froze the blocks. So do let them thaw out if you live in a cold climate and you're receiving them in the winter months. Ps I like the smaller size. I never need fireblocks that are big as the other brands make them, I always cut them to save money. All broken and ready to go!

They light so quickly that I have to immediately set a starter in the fireplace or I'll burn my fingers (quick lighting is a good thing). And they last a good long time to start a roaring fire. Best I have ever used and the most inexpensive of all available choices. Good stuff...
