Petromax Petroleum Lamp HK150/830 – HK500/829

This is a fantastic product. Not only does it emit enough light to feel as though you’re sat in your front room at home, it also is a great source of heat. We used this on a recent camping trip in the U.K. in early spring in our bell tent. It exceeded expectations. It is well engineered and manufactured. But it is not for someone who wants instant results. Like anything mechanical it takes time to prepare, and to monitor once running. But that is part of its appeal. If this sounds too much admin (and this lamp is admin) then buy an electric lamp, but you won’t get the same light and heat you will with this Petromax. I fully recommend and I have no doubt this will last a lifetime; which for its price makes it a bargain.

Had an issue with the delivery, but the seller was fantat and kept chasing it for me. As you can see I purchased the optional shade and I think it's well worth it. Love the light and heat this gives off and the build quality is excellent. Totally recommend.

There is no denying that there are less expensive lamps available, but at a shade over £90, I feel that the Petromax 500 represents real value for money. It is a beautifully engineered product which looks and performs superbly and frankly I should be amazed if it doesn't outlast me ! Be aware that operating instructions are not included with the product,but there are numerous 'how to' video guides on Youtube. Despite a pessimistic 4 week delivery window being quoted it actually arrived one week after ordering.

Bought this to replace my older one that was damaged in packing. Very reliable, high output pressure lamp. Lighting instructions can be found on YouTube. They have to be seen in action to be believed. Great lamp.

Works well . Excellent customer service. Took a while to sort out my problem, but it’s a long distance, and they did their best .

A great product. It is working well. The brand has been round for years. Good customer service as have additional guarantee got peace of mind.

Excellent lamp knocks spots of the northstars and lasts a good 8hrs on a tank, lucky if you get 3 with the coleman.

Anche se non l'ho ancora usato so che fa una luce bellissima avendo usato per vario tempo l'identico prodotto portoghese della Hipolito

It is a poor quality replication of the original. The ignition is uncontrollable and eventually ignites in the carburetor. This just generates heat and very little light.

Tres satisfait , même si Petromax gagnerait à dire la vérité sur la provenance et la fabrication de ses lampes , y'a pas de honte à fabriquer un produit en Chine, les chinois font juste ce qu'on leur demande , et ils savent fabriquer des objets de qualité. La preuve avec ma lampe , elle fonctionne à merveille , pas de fuite, pas de mauvaise soudure disgracieuse. Je suis très satisfait et je ne regrette pas d'avoir acheté ce bel objet , qui j'espère, traversera les générations.
