fantastic and hey i "get" it!!
fantastic and understandable even for us right brained people. I used to coupon but never like this and I love this book. it's very easy to understand but filled with all the information you need to make successful and cheaper shopping trips.. and hey, maybe even make some money along the way. jenny explains things so well, shows you spreadsheets and takes the headache out of trying to figure it all out. I love the fact that it has a list of couponing sites as well since i'm never quite sure which ones are good, I also love that she tells you about the different stores and how their coupons and rewards work. makes you feel more confident when you go in. you know what they say "knowledge is power" . this is a book for the beginner but when you are done you can feel like a pro. thanks jenny for writing this and making such an enjoyable and understandable read that is really helpful to us that are on a budget or that just like the "hunt" of great deals.. which is most of us these days. don't hesitate to get this book people. it's wonderful and will save you big bucks!!

Good Information but Somewhat Pricy
As an inveterate couponer myself, I'm always interested in books that dispense advice on how best to save money using coupons. Jenny Dean's "Couponing for the Beginner" has a lot of good information that both beginners and more experienced couponers can utilize. The book is a how-to guide designed for absolute couponing beginners, so Dean begins with the basics, defining the various terms associated with coupons and explaining the various types of coupons that are commonly available. From there, she explains the rules that stores commonly apply when people use coupons, various ways to get coupons, how to organize coupons and plan shopping trips, and, most important, how to maximize the value of coupons by combining offers (she provides several examples with the cost of specific items showing how the various strategies can reduce the cost of specific items, sometimes to zero or below). The material is easy to understand and after reading this book most people should easily be able to whittle a few dollars off the cost of their next shopping trip.Even experienced couponers should be able to find some value in the book. Dean discusses a number of common retailers and provides links to their rewards sites and specialty sites that provide in depth information about coupons and sales at specific retailers. For people who frequent a particular drug store or grocery, these sites can provide some tips on saving that might not otherwise have occurred to them. The Kindle version of the book contains a couple of dozen links to various coupon related sites, many of which may not be familiar even to those who use coupons regularly. My only concern with the book, and it's a significant one, is the price. I received the book for free as a promotion, so price wasn't an issue. However, the author usually charges $4.99 for a book that's barely 50 pages long and contains a fair amount of filler (a discussion of the economics behind couponing is interesting for those with a marketing background but doesn't really provide any valuable information). It may be difficult to justify paying that much money for that short a book, especially when much of the information it contains can readily be found elsewhere. In my view however, the material for the most part justifies the price (I did deduct one star from my review... if the book were priced at one or two dollars, I'd have given it five stars). The discussion of stacking coupons is more detailed and provides more stacking options than most books do, and the large number of links and details about individual retailers make the book a good reference that can be referred to repeatedly when needed. For anyone who's new to couponing, following the advice in the book will probably save them at least as much the cost of the book on their first shopping trip alone. Couponing does save money, and this book one of the better guides you'll find on using coupons.

Great Couponing Information
At first I thought I would not learn anything new from this book. But I was wrong! I learned a lot of things about couponing that I had never heard of. Also, there are several links to places where you can get coupons and other information. It was well written and laid out so that I could understand it and follow it.If you are new to couponing I would recommend reading it. If you have been couponing for awhile you might be surprised and learn something new that would help you too.

Couponing for beginners
This book is really basic and would be good for someone who has not done any reasearch into couponing at all. It give you good advice as to how to get started and where to look but really basic information. If you are like me and had already done a lot of internet researching before hand you probally already know most of what is in this book, but if you are just starting out and have not done any research yet give this book a try to get you started.

Great for a beginner!
I purchased this book at the same time as another coupon book that had high ratings on Amazon.com and this one was so much better. This book is a very easy read and breaks down terms and "must knows" for those really wanting to get into couponing. There is also a great section of the book that has resources and websites that are very helpful to know. I suggest this book if you are new to couponing and want a crash course and great tips.

This is a FANTASTIC Couponing Book!
One reason I LOVE this book that teaches about couponing is that it isn't 12 inches thick, yet it teaches you everything you need to know and that you would get from the thicker books. I rarely make it through books with lots of extraneous information or just "chatter", as if the author is being paid by the word. This compact little book is packed full of all the information you need to become an "Extreme Couponer"! I highly recommend it.

couponing
For me it started with watching extreme couponing on TV. Things have changed from 2011, you are not able to get 100 sports drinks or 100 toothpastes. This book is more realistic, my husband was surprised when I started saving $$$ and he was with me when the total came almost nothing using extra bucks from cvs. She tells you how to watch for the store's different policy's, how you can save money stacking coupons, esavings etc. and how to prepare for your first shopping trip. It is worth the little money and it is practical, however you will have to buy the book like I did. You can get some tips from the show but things have changed over 4 years. Good book!!!I am proud of myself, It is possible to save money, you just have to know how!!!!!!You know I went to Barnes and Noble and they don't even stock books on couponing, you will have to order it here.
