The bristles are rigid. This item is simply a comb with one row of teeth, and a comb with two rows of teeth.

Overall, when opened, it’s about ten inches long. Folded up it’s just 5 inches. Fits easily into your travel bag. Been using similar ones for over thirty years. These happen to be the best construction I’ve seen.
