Invaluable!
I should have bought this a long time ago! I own several guitars and basses and do my own work and set ups. This is a very well made and valuable tool. It works on many different guitar scales and has on side as a plain straight edge if needed. If you do your own set ups, get this!

Easier to see with old eyes
I was having trouble seeing if the frets were level with my $15 level. It's straight and notched for frets but the issue was that it's shiny gray! The light glare off the frets made it hard to see the gray on gray. This one solves the issue and it's a quality product. Nice and straight and a bit easier to hold than the flat straight edge.

Good Tool
Straight as an arrow. Notches fit over frets as they should. The notches were all even when held against a straight edge and on a flat machine table. Perfect for adjusting guitar necks.

Well made, accurate, useful and a very good value!
I bought this after reviewing many others in part because I'm familiar with the MusicNomad brand. I was not disappointed in what I received. This is a quality instrument that anyone who works on guitars needs. It serves two purposes. The 1st is in checking the fretboard (wood) for level before you then (2nd) check the frets for uneven wear. It's important to first adjust your truss rod so the fretboard wood is in a fairly straight plane before you consider taking any material off of your frets. This tool lets you do that. Its well made and the surfaces you are checking with are precision machined. I checked mine against a L.S. Starrett 24 inch straight edge and it looks excellent which is expected. One note worth mentioning is this is crafted from an Aluminum extrusion. It is a quality material and most likely 6061 aircraft Aluminum that is heat treated for strength and hardness. However, this material is malleable and will dent or ding if it receives sufficient impact with a like hardness or harder metal (your frets are harder). It's important to treat this gauge as you would any other precision measuring instrument. That said, every other one of these I've seen that is affordable, is also made from Aluminum. Yes I would buy this again and recommend to my home Luthier friends.

Fantastic Notched Straight Edge,โฆShipped in a brown paper bag??
Fantastic precision notched straight edge, incredible value for the money. Half the price of Stoo-Zac with more scale lengths and still high quality. The only difference I can see is aluminum vs the other brandsโ steel, which is fine as long as you donโt drop it. I stumbled upon this one because Iโd previously purchased an inexpensive Chinese brand (Eye-Looz or something like that) that I suspected wasnโt machined straight and I was right. Music Nomad really makes great stuff for the money. Try their nut files too! This product is absolutely worth a 5 star rating based on value for money, however I am removing one star because Amazon shipped it in a PAPER BAG. A precision tool, shipped in a flimsy brown paper bag. Yeah take your chances there. The word precision sorta goes right out the window there, doesnโt it? How many times was it dropped in transit? Buried beneath heavier packages? Itโs a real โwho knowsโ type scenario. Fret not, for there are other retailers who offer basic competence AND free shipping. Say for instance the ones that send you your product intact along with a little bag of candy? Yeah you get the picture.

Great product from folks who sell great products
So far so amazing. MusicNomad has great products. THERE IS ONE REVIEW on here, a 1-star, that shows it not being level by placing it on wooden table moving a piece of paper under it showing theirs was very curved. How flat is that regular wooden table? That's not a verified flat surface. ANY standard wooden table is going to have slight ups and downs on it. A wooden table/bench is not a know, perfect flat surface. Ignore that one. Might as well put it on your car's hood.

Flat. Don't believe video review.
Straight and flat as advertised. Beautifully made tool. Checked it on a Starrett flat stone I have access to at work and it's perfect. There is a video review of this here on Amazon that shows someone laying it on a desktop, sliding a piece of paper under it and claiming the tool is not flat..... a DESKTOP. If you lay this on a desktop to gauge the flatness of it, you are exactly the kind of person who shouldn't be using a tool like this. All you did was show that your desktop is not flat. There are probably very few desktops in the entire world that are absolutely flat. If they were, we wouldn't need to buy flat stones to gauge things. One of the more moronic things I've seen in a review here and totally worthless. In short, this works. It works well and does what it says. Not really more complicated than that.

Good tool for the purpose.
With both a Gibson and Fender fret clearance scale as well as full straight edge, a very useful item at significantly less than comparable options. Not inexpensive, but good value if guitar setup is going to be a common activity.

Expensive, but great quality!

Great piece of kit. Invaluable for guitarists. This item seems very well machined and accurate (unlike some cheaper brands) well worth the money.

I bought this because I have a few guitars and I'd rather check and adjust the truss rod myself than bring it to a luthier for $$$ each time. Between this and MusicNomad's truss rod gauge, I can check the necks of my guitars and see how much relief they have if any. This beam just gives me more info than the gauge itself. I wish there was a clear video on how to use it from MusicNomad. They have informative videos for most of their products but all I could see for this one was a wide angle shot of the tech looking at it without explaining how it works in detail. I found a another video that explains how notched straightedge rulers work with camera closeups of what to look and that's all that I needed. Why did I choose this one when so many other variants are available on Amazon for much less ? Good question. Because it's straight and true. If you pay less and the straightedge is not straight, what's the point ? It's not flimsy. It's made from a solid aluminum bar with a full straightedge and the notched edges on the 2 other sides. It's expensive but it's from Nomad and it's a name I trust. If I'm going to use this quite often, I figure it might as well be a good one. I'll forget about the extra expense in no time.
