What a book! Full of sensual passion, denial, steamy encounters and witty laugh out loud humour this is an absolute emotional joy to read! Word of warning though - once you start this is very hard to put down! LOVED THIS. 💕💋💋💋

I absolutely love a good small town romance, and, for me, Lacey Black’s renditions of this classic romantic trope are among the very best in the genre. She has perfected the telling of these sweet and sexy romances in these small, everybody knows everyone else towns. Centered around a big, loving family, Black gives her readers love stories that are full of heart and are as hot as they are humorous. I simply cannot get enough of them.Love and Pancakes kicks off Black’s new Rockland Falls series, a spin-off of her Summer Sisters series. Fans of Black will recall meeting Rhenn, best friend to Nick, the hero of the Summer Sisters series finale, My Kinda Forever. An avowed playboy, Rhenn is not the settling down type. He doesn’t do emotion, he doesn’t do relationships and he doesn’t do repeats. Marissa runs Grayson Bed & Breakfast with her mom, and her plate is full dealing with getting it back open following a fire. Rhenn, an electrician, is there to help her out.This couple had that instant spark of attraction, but both are more than a little wary of getting involved with the other. I loved how Black brought in characters from the Summer Sisters series, including my favorites—Orval and Emma—into this story. LOVE AND PANCAKES is a standalone read with a happy ending. There are LOTS of sexy scenes and colorful language if that is an issue for you. Rhenn the hero is quite a lusty fellow. He is rough around the edges and could be a turn off for a lot of readers. The heroine Marissa decides to give her mousy quiet ways a backseat and takes charge of her sex life - if only for a few weeks. This story may not be for everyone but I hope my review is about the story and not my personal taste.Marissa along with her mother runs a local B&B. The story starts with Marissa staring at the results of an electrical fire in the old building. She is devastated at the damage to her precious home. Firemen, police, etc. are all busy trying to find out what happened and to make sure the fire is all out. Now the work begins.Rhenn lives in a town about 3 hr.s away. He is an electrician and his friends are connected to the family that owns the B&B. They get him to take the assignment to rewire the old home. It is a sweet gig as he takes his sailboat down to live on while working on the project. Rhenn is quite a lusty fellow. Sex is always on his mind and he can hardly say a sentence without using foul language. I guess he would be a mans man. A big guy he is quite gorgeous and never is without female companionship. Having his heart broken a long time ago he lives on one-night stands and never falling for any of the women he sleeps with. The minute he sees Marissa in the damaged home he is immediately sexually aware of how sexy she is and what all he would like to do about it.This story has a lot of drama as well as sexy scenes. It is Marissa and Rhenn's love story. One that almost ends with a broken heart. The path to love is not always a clear one. It is a good story even if a bit different. I would definitely recommend it. Just be sure it is a story that you can read and enjoy and not be bothered by the sexy scenes. I thought it was entertaining.I was not paid for this review. A great storyline. A very romantic, steamy and funny story. Starts with Marissa’s B & B on fire and when construction workers start on it, then she meets the Electrician who arrives as a favour from his best mates wife whose family turns out to be related and a long lost cousin of Marissa. Aunt Emma is hilarious so much innuendo and sexy talk shocking all the family when bot sides meet up. Worth the read.

Love And Pancakes is a phenomenal contemporary romance by Lacey Black. Ms. Black has provided readers with a well-written book and stuffed it full of fun, lovable characters. Marissa is thankful no one was injured during the fire at the family-owned B&B. Rhenn is an electrician and leaves Virginia to work on Marissa's family electrical repairs in Rockland Falls, NC. There's an instant connection when Rhenn meets Marissa, but he plans to remain single and she's the settling down type. Marissa and Rhenn's story is filled with drama, laugh-out-loud humor and sizzle. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover and look forward to reading more from Lacey Black in the future. Love And Pancakes is book 1 of the Rockland Falls Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.
