5/5 stars for me , was looking for something to mount onto my cars rails for vacation and came across this set We traveled over 600 miles with this set and hit speeds of 100MPH max and stayed between 70-90 MPH and no problem from this product. Highly recommend this to anyone who’s looking for any type of cargo carrier to mount to their rail system. Even rain into some heavy rain and my luggage stayed perfectly dry! Also only took me 10-15 minutes to install and is very very sturdy and durable ! You won’t find nothing this good for this price.

Used the roof rack and the bag to travel from the Midwest to the east coast and back. The rack and travel bag were trouble free, and kept our items dry. The installation process was a little difficult, as our rack did have some minor bends, but nothing the rubber mallet didn't make right. It took a good 2 hours my first trip to figure out the best way to pack and secure the bag, but that isn't a problem specific to this bag. The provided straps are 2 different sizes, something that wasn't obvious, but was listed in the instructions. Also, helpful in the instructions was mentioning that the non-zipper side should face forward. I could see that causing some of the leakage issues listed in other reviews. The only "con" I have is the clamps. They are meant for more rectangular shaped bars, and mine are "aero" or teardrop shaped. I had to crank down one side of the clamp far enough that the threads of the clamp created a concerning puncture point for the bag. I wrapped it in a rag with zip ties to pad the surface for the travel bag.

So we just finished an 18 hour drive. Most of it was at expressway speeds of 75 mph+ and at least half of it was in a rainy downpour. The rack was easy enough to assemble but is much easier with 2 people. Make sure it is CENTERED on your car and tied down properly without loose ends or small open areas that will whistle. If you load your bag properly to be as aerodynamic as you can you'll cut down on noise and increase gas mileage. We did see a loss of about 2-3 mpg as a result which we feel is well worth the extra space. The waterproofing was flawless but again, do it correctly. Your zipper needs to be facing the BACK of the car. All these reviews about poor waterproofing are either user error or perhaps a defect but we had no issues. The clip straps weren't the best quality but we plan to replace them with 2 more ratchet straps instead (this already comes with 2). Load was secure the whole way home from Florida and came out unharmed and dry as a bone. We fit a very large suitcase, 3 backpacks, some shopping bags and a hard 25 gal tote full of dog food in it easily with room to spare. Product seems pretty durable but we've only used it once. For less than $200 for this and the crossbars for our car, I would say it's well worth the price. A hard shell is easily 5x the cost so I would say well worth it. Just use it correctly.

Update: Customer service is excellent. Five stars. They reached out and offered a full refund. I upgraded the star rating from 2 to 4 to reflect the seller's willingness to take responsibility and proactive approach to making it right. I am leaving the original review up for context and transparency. Old review: The review is an average of the bag, one star, and the rack, about 4 stars. The bag is very, very low quality. It seems to be made from sparsely woven threads covered with some rubber like material. The pictures on the item page are not representative of the actual bag material. In the pictures it looks as if the bag is made from more substantial material similar to a suit case. It started showing tears in the rubber within a day of travel and upon a nice rain, the things in the bag got very wet. You would be better served by a tarp. Pictures will follow later Update: pictures added. The bag completely ripped during the trip. The rack is alright. It was relatively easy to set up even if a little bent. It is noticeably louder with the rack on. I cannot say about rust or anything else, since it has only been a short amount of time since install.

The appearance looked like it would be a good fit for my jeep and said it would fit. Had problems getting it together instructions were not that helpful. When I ordered the rack with the bag it sagged in the middle of the rack. Getting everything secured was not easy and took other straps bought separately from what was sent and the bag that wasn’t supposed to leak even putting the opening in the back like it said things still got wet.

UPDATE: They provided a timely full refund. The rack seems solid. The u-bolts stick way too far up though and make it difficult to move things around on the rack. Worried it will rip the bag as well. The bag seems thick and very water / windproof. It did not flap in the wind when tired with the straps. Albeit it did inflate with air where it could. Second day of use, went through a heavy rain storm. Had an inch of water in the bottom! Zipper closed, rain flap over zipper velcroed down. Not sure how do much water got in.

Got this to put on my Sequoia. It put together pretty easily and mounted easily as well. I got the largest one to help. It covers all the roof without covering up the sunroof. It has knocked my mileage down about 1-2 mpg. I take it off when not in use since it's simple and lightweight. The middle rods seem to bend just a little bit, but with even load distribution, it shouldn't be an issue. Once mounted, it doesn't move around if everything is tightened down properly. Everything is powdercoated, so I don't see rust being an issue. I'm not a huge fan of the bolts not being the same color or coated the same as the rest of it. A very small bit of paint should take care of that to help it blend better. Haven't tested the waterproof bag it comes with yet.
