What's the difference between this and the more costly hybrid model?

Our Spalding Momentous EZ Assembly & Ultimate Hybrid Basketball Hoops have specific features. The Ultimate Hybrid has the option to go up to a 60" Acrylic or 54" Glass backboard, while our Momentous is only equipped with a 54" Acrylic backboard. The base on the Ultimate Hybrid is the most unique feature since it can be filled with water and sand and includes a cover that keeps the base a clean look. The main advantage of our Momentous EZ Assembly is that the hoop can be assembled in 30 minutes, making the game of basketball more accessible without compromising stability or quality.

What will hold it down so it does not fall over?

Hi Melissa - Our Spalding Momentous EZ Assembly 54" Clear View Portable Basketball Hoop base fills with 36 gallons of water or 300 lbs. of sand. Please see the link below for a visual of the base in our owner's manual. https://cdn.spalding.com/manuals/M6E10E01.pdf

What is the thickness of the acrylic used on the clearview backboard?

The backboard on our Spalding Momentous EZ Assembly 54" Clear View Portable Basketball Hoop is approximately 8 mm thick.

Is this the fixed version from the recall last year?

Hi Justin - Yes, any Spalding Momentous Hoop being offered right now is not part of the voluntary recall in 2022. If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact our Spalding Customer Care team directly at the link below. https://www.spalding.com/customer-service/general-help/contact-us
