Great for my use. This generation (GF63 12VE) DOES support DP 4K external displays
Not the latest hardware, but what do you expect at this price point? Mine is plugged in to a power outlet and an external 4k monitor 90% of the time. I tend to play 'older' games and I'm not a gaming pro. I'm a 'casual' gamer. After work, I'll happily play for a couple of hours Just Cause 3 and 4, SW Battlefront 2 at 4k maximum settings. More graphically challenging games (Cyberpunk 2077 etc) I play at medium/high at 1440p. I use a 4k external display connected via the USB C/Display Port with a cable I already had. The port is not thunderbolt and doesn't support charging the laptop through it, but it does support the onboard 4050 card at 4k. The HDMI port does NOT. I don't know why MSI wouldn't support the 4050 through HDMI but fall back on the onboard Intel graphics card. It doesn't matter to me, but may to other people. It's light weight and does everything I need it to. It's my 2nd MSI laptop and can't recommend highly enough, buying more ram and a secondary internal ssd to upgrade yourself, if you're tech savvy. Great value overall.

Disappointed with MSI
I had a bad experience with an MSI Thin laptop. Freezing and Wi-Fi problems were the main issues; it was disconnecting from Wi-Fi on its own.
