Great latex for a mask.
We bought this to make an animatronic that my teenage son was creating. He 3D printed the hands and head, then made a negative mold with silicone caulk. We weren’t sure if the latex was going to dry in the silicone. It did as we did a few thin layers and it worked great. We tinted the latex with those 99 cent bottles of craft paint. It worked great.

Pleasantly surprised
I always swore by the French modeling clay without sulfur but so far this is so much easier to work with plus it was so much cheaper. Highly recommend

I've used this #407 rubber latex for years
When it's fresh, the latex is fabulous. While the product is primarily used by folks building up multiple layers to create a flexible mold, I use it as a removable resist for ceramic glazes a few times a year. All I need is two coats, and the rubber peels off afterwards beautifully. My one complaint with the product, however, is a shelf life of about 1 year. I am very careful not to expose an open container to air, allowing it to harden. I always scoop out a small amount to use immediately, and seal the lid. But somewhere between 8 months to 12, the latex stiffens to the point where it was not brushable at all. I still had 3/4 of the 1-pint jar left. The packaging recommends a small amount of distilled water to thin the latex (I tried that: it turned my 1/2 tsp of rubber to the consistency of lumpy cottage cheese). The packaging also suggested the alternative of using aqua ammonia (being very clear that regular ammonia would not work, being too diluted in strength). Aqua ammonia would be "available at a chemical supply." I have hunted for it in a small, non-industrial amount to no avail. I called Environmolds to ask where I might access aqua ammonia. I was told to use either the distilled water or regular ammonia, and I should have no problems. I couldn't convince the woman that my experience did not bear that out. She knew nothing about her product needing anything stronger. So, the bottom line: this rubber latex is a reliable product and works well -- UNTIL it reaches it's shelf life. The smallest jar I have on hand is an entire pint, and I only use small amounts at a time. Most of the rubber goes hard before I have the chance to get my money's worth from it. It would be great to purchase in a 4-oz jar! One other problem: this jar I just received: super quick 2-day Prime delivery. Fantastic, even amidst the pandemic. However, the jar was only placed into a plastic bag before being placed into the shipping envelope. No outer protection. The plastic lid on the jar arrived cracked. So now my latex will harden all that much faster. Shipping from Amazon partners usually is more than adequate. In this case, however, it was faulty.

Movie set quality
I was very impressed with the ease I had in making this mask with this liquid latex. I painted it on in layers to build the texture and thickness I wanted.

Jar open and partially empty
The product itself works as expected, however, It came to me having already been opened and partially used. About a third of the jar had been used it appears.

Works great, great price
It is such a big container of latex for such a cheap price. I was able to corpse the arms and torso of a scarecrow with just one container of this product.

Great prosthetic latex!
I used this to make a bunny nose prosthetic. This is the best stuff I’ve used like ever it was thicknit went on smooth! Stinks so much tho but that’s expected. Love it!
