Stable in wind and rain.
I bought this awhile ago for beach car camping on Portsmouth Island (Outer Banks of North Carolina). This past week was my first chance to put it to the test. First off I violated the first rule of camping. I did not do a practice run with setting it up. My wife and I figured it out but the directions were sketchy. The basic set up was fairly straight forward but there are a plethora of straps and buckles with no clear instructions about how to use them. But, as I said, we figured it out. We used specialty sand stakes to anchor the four corners and we set up a large canopy over the front access door for shade. On our third night we got serious wind and rain. The the tornado warning went off about 9:00 PM. There was really nothing to be done except for my wife and I to hunker down with our two dogs in the back of the car. After the tornado warning was lifted, we had a long night of heavy rain and strong winds and the tent stood up to it really well. It was very stable for such a large and tall tent and there was almost no leakage in the driving rain. There was a hint of water that got under the rain fly but nothing that was a problem. I would highly recommend this tent. It is tall and roomy and docks very securely to the hatchback of our Subaru Outback. Paired with a collapsible awning it makes a great car camping system.

Camping Game Changer
I was looking for a tent to add to my Tacoma truck. I looked at a lot of options that would attached to the roof. Non of those options opened up to the back of the bed. I built a bed platform in the bed of the truck and wanted something that would give us a little more room and privacy. This was the perfect addition. First, it is very well built and a very high quality tent. I love the fact that we can stand up in there. It makes it easy to change our close and move around. We can now slide out from the bed and not have to worry about shoes, dirt or rain. It is so spacious you can setup a bed inside the tent so the family can all camp together. We setup chairs and a table in there to hold our camping stuff. You could even put a pee bucket in there so you don't have to wonder to far from bed. It is easy to setup. The tunnel to the truck is not difficult to figure out. Every vehicle is different, so i suggest playing around with it and finding your own personal setup. You can detach it easily, zip up the tent, and take the truck out for the day. Just back up, attach and you are ready for the night. We love this tent and it has changed our camping experience. Worth every dollar.

Surprisingly easy to set up as a standalone tent.
I am using this tent on a cross-country trip. The photos I've added are the first place I camped. THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THIS TENT: - I was able to set it up for the first time, as a standalone tent, after mindnight, by myself. I had it up in about 15-20 minutes. I have very little camping experience and have never set a tent up before. - Wind. There has been some big wind here and the tent was solid. And quite windproof. Only when a gust came from a particular angle and got up beneath the rain fly did any of the cold air make it inside. I think this is outstanding, given that the ceiling of the tent comprises 3 mesh panels and one solid panel. - Rain. This morning it rained pretty hard and, apart from the lovely sound of the drops hitting the tent, it had no effect on my experience. - Warmth. Currently, I'm at a site with an electrical hookup. Using a small heater (Dreo, also purchased on Amazon), it is entirely comfortable. Sometimes **too** warm! It's been getting down into the mid-to-low 30s (ยบF) at night, so I think that's pretty great. I haven't even had to break out my heavy-duty sleeping bag yet. Just a blanket and a ground pad. Granted, it's a warm blanket. On the warmer nights, in the 50s (ยบF), just a Therma Rest camp blanket (the kind you can put around your shoulders, etc., a one person blanket) has been plenty. - Comfort. The spacious dimensions of this tent are great. No floor area is lost to sharp angles. I have me, my large dog, work materials, and lots of stuff I'm sorting through while deciding what to take with me on my trip, it's more than enough room. (On the other hand, I have no idea how five people could sleep in here, unless it was sardine can-style.) - Heavy duty Velcro, where Velcro is used. - A totally unexpected Velcro-ed opening at the lower left of the front of the tent for running a power cord inside! THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS TENT: - 6 mesh pockets on the walls for storing small things. - The windows and door screen flaps are easy to roll into the space between the bottom of the zippers and the actual bottom of the window. - The windows and door screen only roll down to waist height, which is a nice privacy enhancer. - The structure of the ceiling means that using an indoor stove, such as a Vesta (also purchased on Amazon), is easy and does not require stove pipes or a stove jack. **note: the Vest burns small cans of fuel that are purported to release little-to-no carbon monoxide, but I would not feel comfortable using it in a completely sealed tent** - Useful loops and loop-and-toggle in convenient places. You could hang a lantern from the middle top of the ceiling with the sturdy hook provided. I was able to string the lights you see in one of the pictures by connecting them to loops in the upper corners. Etc. There is still one loop, made of the tent fabric, on the outside upper left of the door, for which I have not figured out a purpose, but can think of a number of ways to make use of it. - The many thoughtful details make it possible to set up and rearrange things as best suits your needs. - The tent stakes go in easily, are very easy to clean when they come out, and have a solid construction. THINGS THAT COULD USE IMPROVEMENT: - The zipper along the bottom of the door does not have great clearance for the small piece fabric meant to block wind, etc., where the two zippers meet. It's a bit annoying to have to take several tries to get it closed without catching the fabric. - Since I am *not* attaching it to my car at this time, the part of the tent that becomes the linking tunnel are awkwardly situated on the outside of the tent. If you look at the first photo, you can see it kind of billowing out and obscuring the window/door on that side. The night time photo shows how I tried to roll it up. There are no directions for the standalone function included with the tentโdespite the fact that it was an advertised feature when I purchased itโso I searched online for directions or videos for how to stow it when not in use. I found nothing. So, I rolled them up as best I could figure out, given where there are loop-and-toggle structures on the outside of the tent. BUT, I could not find a way to do so that doesn't create ample opportunities for water, detritus, and insects to get inside and stay there. I want to believe that there is a way to stow it neatly and in a way that prevents these intrusions, but haven't figured it out, or a way to find out. I think the best option would be if it zipped on and off, or had a pouch it could be zipped into on each side and the bottom. - The instructions. The instruction card is made of durable material, but gives so little information as to be almost comical. When I tried, some months ago, to set the tent up by using them, I failed even after an hour and forty-five minutes of trying. I think the reason it went up so quickly this time, is that I didn't use the instructions. I looked at the components and put it together. The first time, I put the rain fly up 180ยบ opposite of how it is meant to be, because neither the instructions nor my mind could figure out where the pole for the doorway goes. [Hint: it's not attached to the door or tent. It's a pocket on one edge of the rain fly.]. And, as I said, it offers no information about how to use the tent as a standalone, not connected to your vehicle. And, as a novice, one thing I really notice missing is instructions on how to fold it to get it back in the bag. - The 6 mesh pockets on the wall would benefit from a center-top Velcro attachment. I plan to add one to each. - Finding a way to contact the company is very difficult. One can find a mailing address, but, so far, I have not found a phone number. I want to call them to ask about how to stow the car attachment when not in use. <sigh> All in all, I think this tent provides good value for money, so far. Time will tell how the fabric coating holds up, etc., but I think my cross-country trip home is going to be really pleasant with this tent. It's so spacious that I doubt I will ever connect it to my car. There's really no reason to, at this time. If I were in a heavy duty mosquito environment, it might be more appealing, though. This is late October, and I'm in the northern half of the country, so mosquitos are not very present. I am happy with this purchase.

Great SUV tent
Me and my daughter bought this SUV tent for a mother/daughter girls getaway camping trip. We set the tent up before we left so we knew how much time it would take and to make sure it wasn't torn or had any defects. Everything was in perfect condition and is made with sturdy materials. We did struggle a bit putting it up when following the directions. The directions are very clear but it was awkward because the last step is to pull the elastic part up over the hatchback of the SUV. When we took it down we discovered it would be much easier to attach the elastic part first then assemble the rest, which we did this week when we actually went camping. The poles that hold up the tent are rugged and this tent is really easy to put together. It has a ton of room and has tons of head space. I am just under 5'7" and I couldn't touch the peak. It has mesh pockets built in to store a bunch of stuff. The bottom is partially attached to the back of the tent where it attaches to the SUV so nothing can get up under the car and into the tent. The elastic goes around the entire back of the SUV and is fastened with clips. It even comes with a projection screen which is great if you have a projector on your phone. My daughter slept in the back of her SUV and I slept on a cot. We had three dogs with us, a dog bed, duffle bags, coolers etc. and had more than enough room for all of us and be able to move around. I definitely recommend this tent. It's worth every penny.

Awesome tent, not perfect but close.
UPDATE: Used this weekend for the first time and set up was much easier and take down was a cake. HOWEVER, my suspicion of the wind wreaking havoc was correct. This Tent is a sail in the wind, needs more tie downs. All in all, Not a perfect tent. But the best tent I have found so far that meets my criteria. Only done a dry set up in the driveway so cannot yet speak to the durability but it all looks well done so fingers crossed. For assembly and disassembly, I did this solo and it was not easy. Due to it's height, it is not stable until you have all 4 corners assembled. To help I rested one side on the tailgate first which made life a lot easier, otherwise it would have been a pain. Disassembly was easier knowing my trick, but without a tailgate could be pretty tedious. Seems like a lot of stress goes on the top rods and one bad wind while going up or coming down and I'd be worried a rod could snap. The car hookup, very easy. Once built, the tent is very spacious and TALL, I'm 6'4" and man was it nice. My biggest point of feedback would be make bigger windows. They seem unnecessarily small. Same with the vehicle door, could be wider. Outside of that it's a Very good tent. Just be very wary of the wind. This is a skyscraper of a tent and acts like a sail for the wind. I would be very uneasy in a high wind situation.

Good tent but needs a few changes
The tent seems to be well made. It has sturdy poles instead of the 'bendy' kind. The design of it is so much better for me, a solo camper, to set up - other attachable types (and I've tried about 6 different kinds) are more difficut and takes a lot more time. My 3 complaints: The suction cups that come with it just don't work at all. There are no clear instructions on what to do with or how to attach all those straps. One more door opening on the opposite side would make it easier to get to the other side of my vehicle.

Very pleased well built.
Tent was perfect for our vehicle. Highly recommend making sure it is staked down and the guide lines are staked down as well fit our jeep wrangler well, and it is extremely durable as itโs first use was in heavy wind and rain. Tent held up and with the rain fly set up, everything in the tent stayed dry. Vents works well and allowed for us to store all our stuff comfortably.

Fantastic!
I was hesitant to buy this, due to the minimal amount of reviews, but the ones that had reviewed drove me to buy it. We moved across the country, from California to New York. Every night we stayed in a KOA campground. We also have five dogs that traveled with us as well. The tent held up phenomenally. We went through thunderstorms, wind storms, cold weather, hot weather, and everyone/everything, including the tent, survived. The tent comes with its own stakes, which on their own, would have probably sufficed, but I never used them. I bought the longer ten inch ones. I believe the ones that come with the tent are around 6-8โ in length, and are actually pretty beefy/better than most tent stakes. Set-up/tear-down was a breeze after the first night. Thereโs four poles for the corners, and two that go across the top. All are super good quality and withheld the entire trip. The tent fabric is also made of very good quality. We didnโt put anything down inside the tent floor, and with five dogs and lots of foot traffic, the fabric never ripped or tore. The zipper for the door does have a tendency to snag on the little flap from time to time, but thatโs normal for any type of zipper. Just pay attention to what you are doing and it wonโt snag. The top portion of the tent is completely mesh, which is great for hot nights, and thereโs a very easy to install rain fly that covers it up for rain/cold weather. It will hold in heat quite well. The only rain that got in was through the electrical cord hole, which Iโm sure would have not happened, had I checked it and sealed it up better. Overall, itโs a very well made tent, that I would absolutely buy it again! However, I donโt think Iโll need to buy a new one any time soon, because this thing is still holding up strong! 10/10 recommend!

Functional .... good ventilation .... roomy .....
The tent handled wind & rain with no issues ..... It is tall , no problems standing up. It fit very nicely on our 2024 CRV . The directions could be clearer with larger pics of how the straps integrate. We set this up on a trial run in the yard in a 30 KMH wind .... that was a challenge for the first attempt but got it up. The straps that connect to the wheels were not easy to figure out but finally got it through trial & error. After a four day trip I still cant figure out what to do with the 2 loose light grey straps. There are 2 straps at the back of the open hatch that I don't know what to with...... but it did fit snuggly around the back of the vehicle. The fly supporting ropes have a slider on them to tighten the tension to stabilize tent ..... the sliders do not hold very well & a better design of those would be recommended. I like the holding power of the 2 suction cups . Exc idea . I could suggest using a Thermocell for 15 minutes prior to going to bed ..... absolutely no mosquitos after that ...... but before using the Thermocell the mosquitos were brutal .... likely got in while setting up. Likely 25 minutes with 2 people to set up ready to use . I am 82 , have camped for at least 75 years & would rate this unit at 4 out of 5. Nothing is perfect . We do like it & would recommend it .

Love this tent!
Purchased this tent for a 5000km road trip and was very happy with it. We set it up as a stand-alone tent on some nights and other nights attached it to my Subaru Outback. It was pretty simple setup with 2 people - and figuring out the straps wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. When we slept with the tent attached to the SUV we slept in the tent and could easily close the hatch but have it unlocked in case we needed to get into it if bear were around. Really happy with this product and would recommend it.

Good quality
Design and Materials are great. It would have been better if it came with a canopy to give you shelter when cooking during a rainy day camping. Aside from that I love the design , I love the size and the materials are very sturdy. One of my best buys from amazon
