Essential Phone PH-1 Case, TUDIA Lightweight Minimalist [SKN] TPU Bumper Shock Absorption Cover for Essential Phone PH-1 (Glossy Clear)

After having issues with Tudia's TAMM case affecting my wet install screen protector on my PH-1, I decided to wait for the LULA case to ship from PRIME. You can read my issues with the seller, W2 Corporation, in my review on the TAMM case. After waiting for what seemed like weeks, Tudia released this SKN case. I painstakingly scrutinized the photos to make sure the lip over the screen was thin enough not to affect any screen protectors. I don't drop my phones, nor do I ever get them wet; my primary function for a case on my PH-1 is to prevent scratches and dents from everyday use. Even though this case is currently shipping from W2 Corporation, I pulled the trigger. Finally, Tudia has designed a case that meets my needs. The case isn't bulky and provides excellent coverage. Microphone cut outs, ports, speakers, etc. are all cut to precision. Even the sides feel nice in the hand, the ridged diamond bumps provide adequate grip. The volume buttons and power button remain clicky, and the top of the case has enough clearance for the speaker. The clear case is a fingerprint magnet, but I wanted something where I could put vinyls or decals behind the case. It's quite flexible and pliable, but rigid when on the phone, hopefully these properties will translate well in an actual drop scenario. The lip on the case fits perfectly where it doesn't affect my screen protector, something most case manufacturers haven't been able to master. My PH-1 currently has a skin on it, but the case still fits perfectly. I'll update this review after more daily use, but I'm quite satisfied already.

This beats the other case I got for the PH-1 Essential Phone PH-1 Case, Poetic Guardian [Scratch Resistant] [360 Degree Protection] [NOT Compatible with Tempered Glass] Full-Body Case with Built-in-Screen Protector for Essential Phone PH-1 Blue This TUDIA is far lighter, a lot less bulky, and doesn't impede touching the screen's edges or corners like the other one. The buttons are nicely made and responsive, the sides have a nice texture for grip, the LEDs on the phone aren't covered by this case at all. Even the cut-outs are better. Now, whether or not this one is as protective as others is a question. I'm not going to be throwing this at the ground to find out, either. What I can say is that it protects the back (though the PH-1 doesn't necessarily need that with its ceramic design), and the sides (which DO need protection on the PH-1 because the titanium can get scratched). It also protects the screen by providing a small lip around the edge, raising it up so that the screen doesn't touch the surface if you lay the phone on its face. There's not a lot of extra material in the corners, though, so there's likely to be some impact if you drop the phone and it lands on a corner. The description says "bumper shock absorption" but I'm not going to test this claim intentionally. We'll see if I ever have an accident, I suppose. The glossy black really is GLOSSY black, though. It's a fingerprint magnet. I kind of wish I'd gotten the smoke, or that they'd make this in a matte black. Shiny is pretty, but it's also easier to see scratches, dust, fingerprints, and general wear and tear on a glossy surface. Since I made the decision to purchase the model labeled "glossy black" this one falls on me, though, and doesn't affect my review. As TPU cases go, this is a quality choice. I'm happy with it, and my other case is now in a drawer as a back-up.

This bumper-style case was exactly what I was looking for to wrap my new Essential PH-1. The material feels like a rubbery silicone that has just the right amount of grip to stay in your hand but slip to not catch inside my pocket. The edges don't overlap the screen very much so it is going to be compatible with virtually every screen protector (though it will not hold down the edges if you're looking for that). The openings for the charger, speaker grill, and microphone along the bottom line up just right with no overlap. The cutouts for the camera, flash, and fingerprint reader on the back are equally well-spaced with no apparent glare from flash reflection like some other cases seem to have. The volume and power button covers are also slightly over-sized for what lay beneath them which makes finding and hitting those buttons a smidge easier without ruining overall feel of this exceptionally designed phone.

I got the clear case to go with the white PH-1 and it's perfect. It fits perfectly, the cut-outs line up exactly where they should be, and it doesn't ruin the good looks of the phone. The buttons are exactly like the description says. They feel just like pressing the phone buttons directly so you hardly notice a difference with the case on. Pyramid-shaped bump strips on both sides of the lower half of the case make for some extra traction, but I think the TPU is grippy enough that they aren't really necessary. Some people may not like them, because they're a bit rough, but I appreciate the tactile feedback. The inside of the case features really small dots, which I think are meant to keep the case from sticking to the back of the phone and creating bubbles, and they do that job well. The only knock against them is they are somewhat visible from certain angles against the white back, but they don't look bad by any means and may be less visible on the black version. One last note: from certain light angles, the cut-outs look really misaligned, but it's due to the beveled edges on them refracting the light. With light shining head-on, it's clear everything is lined up correctly, so don't work about that being an issue.

Cover us good fit and good quality. Fits your pocket as well. But i expected a but dull color close to matt black. But the cover is a glossy black than wat is shown in pictures

Gran funda dee tpu transparente con puntitos y grip lateral para el agarre. Es la primera funda que tengo para el essential phone y va perfecta, buen tacto en los botones y medidas exactas. En el caso de una caída creo que cumplirá su función.
