Usually vitamin b12 allopathic tablets contain 1000-1500 mcg of b12. But this supplement only contains 2.2 mcg. So is this supplement justified ?

My understanding is that a male of my advanced age needs 2.4 mcg of Vit B12 each day. Since I aso get Vit B12 from my food intake I think I'm doing OK. P.S. I also take a Supradyn tablet everyday and that pushes my daily B12 intake way above the recommended figure.
