Lightweight and effective!

I live in Texas, and I have 5 raised bed in my yard. 2 of them have some shade during the day, and they don't dry out as quickly and generally have no problems with sun scald. The other 3 beds are full sun, and I've had to water them twice a day and end up with tomatoes and peppers with sunscald. Also, generally the plants don't grow as well. Last year I tried a different kind of cover, and it helped with some of the issues but was difficult to attach and tore easily. This kind is nice because I could order a size that would fit the beds without cutting. I attached it to poles with zip ties. Rain and wind can pass through pretty easily, so it does blow around or sag. I used 4 poles on the corners of the bed and 2 on the long sides to keep it still and high enough above the plants. My plants are doing amazing. No burning, and the soil retains moisture better. I think I am going to cover at least 1 more bed next year (the 3rd full sun one doesn't have anything in it at the moment).

Worked during the summer to protect my plants from the sun, yet provide breathable air to flow through. It's a nice size and I did cut one in half as the garden bed is slight smaller. Easy to put up and looks good.

Did not hold up to wind at all

This is my second summer using these shades and they do make a definite difference if you're in a sun and heat intensive area (I'm in Atlanta). I use them to shade plants that I've recently transplanted, to extend the life of my leafy greens like kale, spinach, and chard, an to give tomatoes, cucumbers/melons, and okra a break when it's really hot and dry. Moderate rain will percolate through them and while you'll find them sagging, they can blunt a really heavy rain that might case damage. The cons are that any small stick is going to be a pain to remove and they catch on thins easily. I have a few snagged areas here and there.
