Can handle a snapping turtle (which says A LOT)
Worked great. Used for a long time while raising a turtle from a hatching. The pump did seem to get loud after a while. Cleaning and refilling is simple and easy but priming the pump is a but of a pain just because of how the top connects to the bottom and how high you have to have the water inside the pump for it to prime. Overall though, definitely happy with the pump... turtles can get nasty so I used this on a 40 gal long tank with at most was 30 gal and at least probably 10 gal. The filter was always able to keep up with the amount of waste from our snapper (that includes all of the feeder fish waste and everything). Would definitely recommend to anyone as a great option

No replacement filters? Really??
It's a decent filter; however, there are no replacement parts for it... and the manual says you have to replace the cotton every 4 weeks. When I asked the seller, they said they'd be available "as soon as possible". Ridiculous. No i have to replace the whole thing with another brand. Don't waste money on this unsupported unit.

WOW…this thing is impressive!!!
I have used a lot of filters in my day, and you can’t beat a canister for filtration efficiency. But for smaller setups they are typically too powerful, so most folks just slap a HOB power filter on and call it a day. This is a totally legit HOB canister! Build quality is good. 20-40 gallon tank perfection!!! UPDATE: So I liked this thing so much, I ordered two more to convert all my HOBs over. Unfortunately, I prefer the spray bar implementation, and both new filters are missing the small length of straight pipe that connects the output arm to the spray bar. There is another version of the little pipe that I attempted to use that has the nipple on it to add the aerator when using the directional nozzle, but it’s sloppy and doesn’t work right. Apparently the only option is to return the items and hope the next two have the tiny pipes. I am not pleased with this from a customer service and an environmental perspective. So we are shipping whole units around the country and presumably back to China for two small lengths of pipe that fit in a match box? We need to do better than that. Can I get some help here?

Garbage do not buy
Do not purchase this item save your money or look into the hyger model day after the 30 days the filter stopped working... Not worth the price for a garbage POS filter that don't last a month, do not buy

It’s also easy to install and clean, making daily fishkeeping much more hassle-free.
The aquarium filter runs quietly with a steady water flow that doesn’t disturb the fish. The filtration works well, keeping the water clear and reducing the need for frequent changes.

Worked well until it didn't.
I put the filter into my aquarium on 9/26 and then on 10/27, it made a high pitched squeaking noise and died. It did it's job until it died. Save your money for Fluval or eHeim if you want a reliable filter.

Might be a good product but I had trouble using it.
Might be a good product but I had trouble using it. To be fair - I was using this for a 20 gal baby turtle tank that is set up on a counter top that has overhead cabinets above it. The setup of the filter is pretty easy. This filter system also seems pretty sturdy as well. But, this filter really seemed to be sensitive to being perfectly level with the water being up to a specific height - so if you are not filling your tank water up to the brim - you may want to do deeper research on this filter to make sure it is the right fit for your aquarium needs. My tank has a turtle and so the water was not filled to the brim though it was filled over the minimum requirement. It seems to work great at first but quickly had a problem sucking water up. it was not full of turtle waste - it just seemed to be fighting gravity. I think this would work better in an aquarium that is filled all the way to the top.

Great Concept and Good Filter.
Pros: * Very Quiet * Effective at keeping a 20L clean * Extremely adjustable water flow. * HOB / Canister cross. * Can use your own filter media with the baskets. Cons * Replacement filter media not always available (Can be solved by cutting your own) * Power cable could be a little longer * Baskets are a little hard to separate Review: I have had mine on a 20L tank for almost 2 years now. its been a great Canister/HOB crossover that I think is a great concept. It is a tad bit frustrating that the replacement filters aren't in constant supply though and that they seem to come up for sale every once in a while forcing you to have to check back on the main listing a couple time a month. There is a solution for this though. For anyone who has one and can't buy replacement filters. If you save the blue bio foam that comes on the bottom of the filter stack then you can use it as a templet to cut out new filter media for it. You can get filter media either here on Amazon or at a local pet store. I personally cut floss pads and bio foam for mine and then put a small bag of activated carbon in the top basket where the carbon pads usually go. It keeps my tank very clean and the fish.
