Are these mushrooms imported from europe? i bought some mixed ones at costco not from europe that were aweful-slimy.

They have either changed the mix or they make a special blend just for Costco, which wouldn’t be unusual. The ones I just bought from there contain Yellow Boletus, Portobello, Oyster Mushrooms, and Porcini. On the back it says: “Countries of origin of raw materials: Poland, Serbia, Romania, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Chile, Peru, Bosnia, Hungary.” Hope that helps someone.

On what material are these mushrooms grown? For instance, are these grown on rice like most commercial mushrooms?

It doesn't say anywhere on canister if mushrooms are sourced in wild or commercially grown. The company name is: THE WILD MUSHROOM CO. but that doesn't mean mushrooms are wild, like someone said earlier

Directions say to "plunge [them] into boiling water for 5 mins. & drain." Does that mean boil for 5 mins? Or boil water, turn off, soak for 5 mins?

Boil the water. While it’s boiling, plunge them into the water, keep it boiling for 5 minutes and turn off the water. After 5 minutes, turn off and drain.

Several different kinds of mushrooms are included, all from Europe. I have not cooked with mine yet, but got a good quantity at a very good price.
