Trench Shovel for Digging, 4-Inch Trenching Shovel with Fiberglass Handle, 56 Inches

This seems to be a heavy duty tool. I wouldn't use for digging an irrigation trench because the top of the shovel blade is too narrow to get much of your foot on it (unless your feet a lot smaller than mine) so you can't effectively use your weight to help drive it into the ground. However, that is not what I bought it for. I got it to help remove large weeds from dry heavy clay soil. Weeds that a trowel or hand weeder were too light weight. This narrow shovel with its long handle (for greater leverage) does the job, although it is surprisingly heavy to carry around. After using it for a few weeks I have no worries about it breaking. It is very sturdy. Do not be scared off by the fiberglass handle mentioned in the description. That handle is quite hefty.

Nicely made. I use it for digging small holes when planting without having to bend over and it saves my back.

Excellent construction, strong fiberglass handle narrow blade was desirable. Price was reasonable.

Quality seems very good!

Quality seems good, nice thick fiberglass handle, and thick steel blade. Only issue i have is that the blade was very blunt making it hard to push in the dirt and dig with. I used a grinder to sharpen the front edge which made it much better.

For me the best ever shovel. A little on the heavy side, but I dona lot of gardening & the pointed end, the smaller width, the foot thing(?) is perfect for digging. Have wanted one for ages. Very very happy

We used this to dig up some bushes and it was strong, and worked well. Much easier than a typical shovel. Quality is good.

I bought it to use in my flower gardens but my husband has discovered it and we love it, too. The handle is fiberglass, it's not too heavy for me, which makes it easier to use. It seems to be very sturdy and much sharper than the drain spade, I tried using.
