Unbelievable value for money for 4K and USB C, incredible screen
This monitor is amazing for the price I paid, 188.99 on offer. I use this with an Apple MacBook Air for graphic design work and didn't want to shell out £1500 for the Apple Studio Display. Obviously this is not the same quality but really is not far from it. For my needs I have several requirements. The first is 4K resolution so that screen quality can be similar in quality to my Mac's screen. Obviously it isn't as good but it's not far off. No dead pixels, no visible banding or dark areas. It looks good from all angles with no major light bleed. Colour reproduction is excellent, read the specs this has great colour accuracy which is important for my work. The second requirement was power delivery and USB C connection to attain Apple's pixel scaling. I set mine so it "looks like" 1440p but is still 4K in terms of quality. Power Delivery works well through the monitor using a decent Thunderbolt cable (not a USB C cable). I had a good quality HDMI to Thunderbolt converter cable which works well. The last thing I wanted was for it to look good. This matches my laptop's space grey colour and its overall aesthetic is very similar to an iMac / Apple Studio Display. The stand it sits on is almost identical. In terms of gripes others reviewers have found I have no issues with – not being able to raise the height no support for VESA only 60Hz poor speakers poor on screen adjustment controls which are hidden away. These are all genuine concerns for some but if you already know about them then why buy the monitor and then complain about something you already knew? Making others aware is fine but personally I read the specs and reviews first, I don't just impulse buy. I used the on screen controls once to set the screen up how I wanted but probably won't use it again so these aren't an issue for me. I use my laptop's speakers plus webcam so am not bothered about the monitor's. The main feature is the crisp, bright, colour-accurate screen plus the ability to use Thunderbolt/USB C and the fact that it looks great on my work desk. This monitor is phenomenal value for money if you know what you want, an absolute bargain.

Affordable High-Quality Monitor
The Modern MD271UL is a well-designed, versatile monitor that combines a sleek, premium look with affordability while maintaining a solid standard for various tasks. Its professional design enhances my workspace with its modern, slim appearance, and for a budget monitor, it offers good build quality. The display is vibrant, with a variety of settings to customize, though the navigation buttons could be improved for ease of use. While the monitor handles most tasks adequately, a higher refresh rate of at least 90Hz would have provided smoother performance, particularly for more intensive use. That aside, it delivers sharp, crisp visuals and accurate colours. As a business monitor, it's well-suited for day-to-day work with a solid display. Overall, it's a great choice for those seeking an affordable, high-quality monitor for professional use.

Excellent value
Just got this today and set it up. It’s the second one as the first had a corrupted screen so,I assume it was damaged maybe in transit. Second one works fine, I want it as a second screen for my 27” iMac as I’d been running an Apple cinema screen but this doesn’t have the resolution. It was fine for my old iMac but not the newer retina screen ones. This screen basically matches the resolution so there’s no degradation in resolution when switching between screens now. Essential when using AutoCAD and the structural design software I use. Also got the benefit of high re Windows as I run this under Parallels as well. Overall for the knee I consider it a bargain so it’s a recommendation from me. Oh Amazon still haven’t collected the old one but only been charged once so no worries.

Great screen and value, but lacks physical adjustments and has Mac wake issues
I really like this monitor, but a few drawbacks kept me from giving it a full 5 stars. First, it completely lacks VESA mounting holes. I wanted to buy a mount to attach my Mac Mini to the back of the screen, but unfortunately, it's not possible with this design. Second, the stand doesn't offer any height adjustments (up and down), which makes it a bit hard to find the perfect ergonomic position. I've also had a frustrating issue where the monitor refuses to wake up from standby mode when I move my Mac Mini's mouse or keyboard, meaning I often have to power it on manually. However, considering the low price of this monitor, these trade-offs are quite reasonable. Other than these specific points, the display quality itself is great and I have no complaints! 😅

Excellent 4K monitor with great connectivity — perfect for video editing
I’ve been really impressed with the MSI Modern MD271UL. The 4K UHD display is sharp and detailed, and the IPS panel gives accurate colours and wide viewing angles. The anti‑glare coating and reduced blue‑light features make long sessions much easier on the eyes. The range of connection options is a big plus — 2× HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB‑C — which makes it simple to switch between devices. I use it mainly with my MacBook Air M4 for video editing, and it handles the workflow brilliantly. The clarity and colour accuracy make a noticeable difference, and the USB‑C connection keeps everything tidy. The built‑in speakers are handy for quick playback, and the VESA mount support gives flexibility for desk setups. Overall, a fantastic monitor that fits perfectly into my editing setup.

Nice until it stops working (often)
When it works for a few months, it's a nice monitor. However, it breaks down after 6 months and stops working - in that the power on button no longer powers on the monitor, so it's dead. The USB-C port also stops working and the LED light stops functioning. It's obviously made with poor quality components. The warranty repair department said there was not a problem, strangely. This is the second monitor I bought after the first one had the same problem a year ago, and the second monitor has the same problem. If you want to replace your monitor after 6 - 12 months then go for it, otherwise if you'd rather not, suggest look elsewhere

Good value replacement for an Apple display.
I bought two of these during Black Friday. They seem to be fine so far. It replaced a couple of 15 year old Apple cinema displays that finally gave up the ghost within a week of each other. The build quality is fine. They work seamlessly with the Caldigit hub that I have been using. I use them for graphic design and productivity rather than gaming but I impressed so far in terms of value for money versus Apple's current offerings. Six months later and still very happy with this monitor. I can understand why the got the Red Dot Design award.
