Brilliant bit of kit and easy to use No jams or problems except that the yellow plastic handle lock piece can fall off Made the fence repair job much easier than expected

I bought one of these pliers to clip a large amount of mesh for a chicken run together. I was sceptical given the bad review it had received but decided to try it because of the price, and it actually works perfectly alright. And because of the low price I ordered a second one so that my husband could work on the mesh at the same time as I did. We used about 6000-7000 hog rings on our rather sizeable chicken run, mostly the VR16 clips but also several hundred of the thicker VR22 (the latter are hard work). And yes, sometimes one of the clips falls out of the pliers, but no more often than that you drop a nail or a screw, that's related to the user and not the pliers.

Works well with the VR16 not so much with the VR22 , I expected a bit more from this brand

Instead of stapling netting, as I had previously done, it made fencing easy. No more distorted stretched netting trying to cater for uneven ground. Let the straining wires do the work.

I bought them to repair a chicken run, they were perfect for the job. Much better than cable ties.Just the job

Doing the job as intended... a it fiddly putting one ring in at a time ... but necessary for what i want to do ..

The pliers are well made and allow for quick attachment of chain link fences to the line wires. I just wish there was a bit more of a groove... it's quite easy to drop the hog rings if you're a bit clumsy.

Ich habe die Zange (ohne Magazin) seit Februar 2024 und seit dem ca. 4000 Klammern verarbeitet, für einen Wildezaun und eine Voliere. Sowohl die Zange als auch die Klammern halten immer noch. Einzig die Beschichtung am Griff löst sich relativ schnell, das ist aber nur ein optischer Makel und stört mich und die Funktion der Zange nicht.

Bien, resistente, fácil de usar, aunque mi nivel no es profesional. Cumplió bien su cometido y lo guardo hasta la próxima. Un año en un cajón sin óxido ni deteioro.

Bought this specifically for the VR16 Rapid hog rings (very displeased with the VR16 fence/hog rings.) These pliers seem OK, but any pliers with a channel or groove (check your tool box) would do just as well. There is an automatic feed version that uses the VR16 pliers, but check the Amazon.UK reviews before you invest in the Rapid VR16 staples/rings or the pliers. I already own a Weston and the auto-feed pliers that takes the VR22. The VR16 staples/rings can be removed with long-nose pliers, but the VR22 rings are very difficult to pry apart, once closed. IMO, the VR16 rings are of limited use, perhaps for chicken wire. The VR22 rings have more uses, but I can't find sharp-tipped VR22 rings from Rapid, only blunt-tipped ones. I sent a complaint (i.e. safety hazard) to Langdon Distribution, but imo they sent a "canned" reply and didn't read my email, with photos, about the hog rings.
