1986 R’n’R Hall of Fame inductee Jerry Lee Lewis (aka The Killer, born ’35, described as “rock & roll's 1st great wild man” w/his live performances) is a pioneer of rock’n’roll & rockabilly, making his 1st recordings in ‘56 at Sun Records in Memphis as a session player w/Johnny Cash & Carl Perkins. He had a number of hits in ’57 to mid ’58, but once word got out that his 3rd wife was his 13 year old 2nd cousin (he was 22), he was blacklisted from radio & almost vanished from the music scene, having just a few minor hits after that. By ’68, he had a revived career in country music. This 2013 UK Not Now release of public domain songs from Jerry Lee Lewis covers all of his songs (except for Goodnight Irene from his 1st album) released through 1962 (all his A & B single sides & his 2 albums). His output was relatively sparse for this timeframe, & this 3 disc set could easily fit on 2 discs w/room to spare; 20 tracks on each disc, disc 1 is 45 minutes, d2 – 51 min., d3 – 49 min. All songs sound clean & are mono (except d1 track #3, d2 #7, d3 #4 are stereo). No booklet; tri-fold cover has photos under discs 1 & 2, songwriter & rec. dates under disc 3; song titles on back cover. If interested, Windows Media Player gets it all wrong; to rip to my computer to make my own compilation, I had to delete all song names on each disc to rip it (not a big deal since I had to input correct song titles anyway), otherwise ripping each disc would erase the prior disc – weird.

Lo mejor del gran Jerry Lee Lewis
Tengo discos antiguos de este cantante. El precio era bueno y me decidí a comprarlo para tener repuestos de discos tan antiguos. Uno de los pioneros del Rock and Roll
