beautiful desk chair
purchased as a Christmas gift for my husband. it has held up beautifully. He has spent hours and hours in it and has even been known to fall asleep in this chair. It is very comfortable, the padding has held up, the leather is durable, and is still the rich color it was when I bought it. The height of the chair works for him, at nearly 6 feet and it fits him like a glove. He says it is one of the nicest desk chairs he has ever had ( and we have gone through a few)

Excellent choice if looking for value and quality!
This is, without a doubt, the most comfortable office chair I have ever had! It is also good looking and stylish. This one is not huge, so it fits nicely behind my desk. If you are over 6' tall or weigh more than 250 lbs,, you may want to check out the version for "Big and Tall" as this chair is more suited for an average sized adult. I was worried about putting it together (I am NOT athletic or mechanically inclined!) but the instructions were quite clear and all necessary screws and tools were labeled and included. It took a little under one hour - which may have been longer than if I had had some help, but I was too impatient to start using it to wait on my husband to get home! HINT: using the upturned empty box it arrived in as a "work table" helped tremendously. Also, be sure to push hard on the casters to secure them in the base before going further. Be sure not to tighten the bolts (as stated in the directions) securing the back to the seat before attaching the arms! You need the wiggle room looser bolts will give you to line up the screws and holes on the arms. The chair was extremely well packaged and arrived safely - a day earlier than promised! This chair was also far less expensive (about 50% less) than other "Executive Office Chairs" we found in Office Depot, Haverty's or Staples, and the quality is quite a bit higher. All in all, I am quite happy with this purchase! I plan to use it for quite awhile - at least through retirement!

Great Chair, but the packaging leaves something to be desired......
Hello All, I highly recommend this chair to everyone who is thinking about purchasing it. I just received it today (02/01/2017). I put it together, sat in it, and do not regret the purchase for one bit! it is so comfortable, well padded, the hight is just right for me (5'9" with a tall desk) and has a very sturdy construction (the casters are attached to a metal baser with an elegant wood overlay). However, what I do regret is not returning it when I saw the box (I think this chair was sold by Milwork Holdings Inc.). (1) the box arrived with one side opened, and retaped clumsily. (2) Although, all the pieces and the hardware were in the box and in the factory original packaging, the hardware was also clumsily taped to the box for the gas cylinder with packing tape. After seeing this, I just had the feeling like it was delivered then returned and then delivered to me.Generally, I don't have a problem with buying a returned item, as long as all the pieces are accounted for and present in the box, and there is no major damage to the product I am purchasing (meaning no more than minor blemishes). On this purchase, however, I just wish I received a big discount on this purchase. It took me nearly two hours to completely assemble the chair. Trust me, it is not because I am mechanically incompetent (I am an aircraft mechanic, and I work with very expensive commercial aircraft, flown by a prominent airline, probably one you have flown in), but it was because the back would not line up correctly with the bottom cushion. The bottom seat cushion and the back come as two separate pieces and need to be assembled to each other. The back has an L-shaped metal piece that attaches to the bottom cushion, on the bottom of the cushion. Where the seat cushion meets the back cushion at the base of the back, and at the rear of the bottom cushion, the back would not align with the bottom cushion and the back was twisted to the left. The holes that attach the back to the bottom cushion are both oval and elongated, which means that there is room to adjust the seat back to the seat cushion, in order to properly align the back to the bottom cushion.Unfortunately, on my chair, the metal piece that attaches the two cushions together (by way of L-shaped metal piece), was twisted severely enough that the holes on one side were at their maximum adjustment limit in one direction, all the while, the other set of holes had plenty of room for adjustment. However, the L-shaped metal piece was wedged against the base plate on the left side forward corner. The left side of the L-shaped piece is the area where the holes which had room to adjust were located. Thus, I was unable to attain the proper adjustment, since the L-shaped piece was stuck against the base plate. In order to get the alignment completely straight, I needed a crow bar and another person's help. In order to get the adjustment I needed from the left side holes, I wedged the tapered end of the crow bar in between the base plate and the L-shaped metal piece and pried on the L-shaped piece. Now granted, I may be a little O.C.D. over alignment, since it is part of my professional work. But this chair was expensive, therefore, it should be right. I guess I can't count on anything from China to be right. But in all fairness, it is more likely that the L-sahped piece was damaged to mishandling of the chair during transport. That being said, remember this is a piece of furniture, and it requires assembly, and the major components are made in China; therefore not everything will line up correctly at first blush. But, it should be close, not as far off as mine was (that is because of mishandling of a return). The instruction booklet is on the seat bottom, attached to the black side of the cushion. They are specific enough to make assembly intuitive; however, as a word of caution, go through it slowly, and make sure that all your fits and clearances are correct before you tighten everything down to full torque. In addition, make sure that you read the instructions step by step, there are multiple bolts that go into different holes on the same part. Namely, the seat plate. There are longer bolts in the front and shorter in the back. If you do not put the right bolt in the right hole you may experience creeping, and rocking, and a wiggly seat. Finally, if your box is all tattered and it looks like it was retaped after a return, SEND IT BACK!Otherwise, after I fixed the alignment, this is a great chair, and I know it will last for a long time. My other chair, that lasted 20 years, wasn't padded nearly as much as this chair is, when it was new. Good luck.

Very nice, comfortable chair
I purchased this chair about a month ago. It arrived on time in undamaged condition, and I found it easy to put together. After putting it together, my assessment was that the chair was attractive and well made. After using it for the last month my assessment of the chair has not changed, except that I can add that I use it often, and it is very comfortable. The chair is relatively heavy for its size, and the leather feels thick. The hardware works as it should. The description of the color is "coffee brown" and I would say that that is about right. It is a dark brown with an even color tone throughout. One other thing to note - and I knew it before I bought it - is that it is not a true highback chair. The back of the chair is 2-3 inches too short for that (and the advertised measurements were accurate and reflect that). If there were a size between mid-back and high back this would be it. That said, after using it for a month I rarely even notice that it is not a highback. I would definitely recommend this chair.
