Fiberglass Cloth Plain Weave Fiberglass Mat Woven Fiberglass Sheet

The fiberglass sheet was exactly what I needed for my projects. I needed some for a surfboard, and also for a kayak. The fiber is a very tight weave, and the perfect thickness, and took the epoxy very well. I will be using it for other projects too, including some smaller ones, which is why I wanted this weight and weave, so that I can use it for multiple purposes, which makes it a versatile weave and weight. I’m certain it will have the appropriate durability for my project, that’s more relevant to the epoxy and the technique, and that will hold up just fine. For the money, it’s a good value, considering I went to the boat store and the price was about 4 times this.

I used this fiber glass cloth on both ends of my canoe with epoxy, and it worked great!

Really easy to work with. Lays down flat and takes epoxy well. Well packaged.

First, understand that this is not a heavy cloth - it feels like a fine silk fabric - and provides a very smooth finish. I used it with epoxy resin (saturated great) as the final coating before a light sanding and painting on a canoe repair. I used heavier fiberglass to repair inside the damaged keel, then after a coarse sanding, used this to cover and feather out the repaired area. This worked great and left a very fine finish with little to no print through (showing of the fabric weave). A second light coat of resin removed any signs of print through and allowed for a fine sanding before painting. The repair is now hard to notice unless you are specifically looking for it. I can see where this would be great for doing the fuselage and wings of large model planes also, as it is very thin and strong as long as you control the amount of resin used.

Item was as described. Plenty of it. Very thin and easy to manipulate in to positions.
