It doesn’t give you that campfire smoke flavor (obviously), but it still toasts marshmallows evenly and gets them nice and golden if you’re patient. The detachable trays are actually really convenient. We used them for graham crackers, chocolate, and extra marshmallows, and cleanup was easy afterward. The roasting forks are lightweight but do the job. It’s definitely more about the experience than anything — perfect for movie nights, date nights, or a cozy winter evening inside. I originally bought this for a Christmas party mixer. I tested it out at home first and it worked great. It comes with several metal marshmallow skewers, which were super helpful. We plugged it in and it heated up quickly and was able to brown the large S'mores marshmallows after just a few minutes. It's a bit awkward sitting there holding a marshmallow over a heating coil, but it definitely works, and you can light a marshmallow on fire with it eventually. The reason I docked it 1 star is that it gets extremely hot throughout the device, including the power button. We had it sitting on a table and it melted the tablecloth it was on and burned a bit of the table below it. We probably left it unattended too long, but again, definitely something to keep an eye on. Consider putting it on a plate or something similar. I definitely recommend keeping an eye on it and giving it time to cool down when it's not in use.

Bought this for my 9 yr old grandson & he loves it. We used it the 1st time on the 4th of July. It takes about 10-12 minutes to fully heat up. Marshmallows roast a little slower than regular fire, but that just added to the excitement. Yes, your marshmallow can catch on fire so adult supervision is needed. I highly recommend this smores maker.

It’s a very cute idea and can make the scenery nice for dates etc but the marshmallow don’t get very heated/ burned/ “cooked” (whatever word you’ll like to use). You have to really put it over the burner to the point it just burns to the plate when a lighter/fire could do the job better. I’ll say save your money and get a cockpit or something but it still is a nice thoughtful idea.

A lot of family fun. Have to let it warm up a few times to get the weird burning smell out. Similar to all small heating appliances though. Once you’ve burned off a few times it’s awesome. We love it.
