What's the "mil" stand for in the item name?

My mylar sheeting was 6mill. A mil is a measurement that equals one-thousandth of an inch, or 0.001 inch. The most common size in the thickness rating for plastic sheeting is 6 mil. This is 6-thousandths of an inch, or 0.006 inch. A micromete is often a small measuring device used for measuring thicknesses of objects

Can I punch holes and hang it on a curtain rod? I have the curtain type up at the moment, but they tear quite easily.. Thanks!

This mylar is very thick and backed with a heavy flexible material on the back, You can punch holes in it and use it as a curtain, but should reinforce the holes as you would any curtain material. If you are using hooks similar to a shower curtain, it would be wise to use grommet in the holes. You could use this mylar for a cafe rod, but again would need to reinforce the holes. This mylar with the backing is heavy and would hang nicely if used as a curtain. If you need panels wider than 4', you could easily sew multiple 4' panels together and even hem it for a nice finish. I imagine this material could tear if there is a lot of weight on the holes, but it wouldn't tear easily.

Does anyone if this product is made of the same cloth type material that grow tents r made of? If it isnt does anyone kno who sells tent material? TY
