Superb bit of kit every one needs

For the price, this represents good value. They are not the highest quality, as might be expected, but they do a reasonable job of holding the workpiece in place. My only complaint is that the segments that hold the jaws have some play in them, so the workpiece can wobble which makes finessing cuts awkward and hand sanding a bit inconsistent. But, they will get you started, and should last a fair while.

As my "first chuck" it does exactly what I wanted, and at a much lower price than other brands. It runs straight, stays tight, and comes with two sets of jaws. And it arrives well packaged too. I'm very happy with it.

Bought as a second chuck for my 1" 8 TPI LumberJack lathe Arrived in good time and 100% as described. Solid bit of kit and fits on my Lathe no prob. Thankfully it came with 2 sets of jaws, as my other jaws (from my LumberJack Chuck), do not fit, as the screw holes don't align. Expected the holes to be universal, but clearly not. This also makes me a little hesitant of buying new jaws, as they may not fit this chuck. Seems well made and has done so far, what I needed it to do, but if I buy any more chucks, I may not go 'off piste' with another hence only giving 3 stars

I bought this chuck about two and a half months ago, and have turned about thirty bowls since then, and used it to hold small spindles for handles and chessmen, etc. I use it on the now discontinued Harbor Freight long lathe. I've not used other chucks, so cannot make direct comparisons, and all I know about turning I learned at youtube university. Pros and cons from that perspective are: Pros - The chuck works well. The tolerances on the t-wrench used to tighten the jaws are a bit loose, but so far that hasn't been a problem. The fact it came with two jaw sizes is great, as I use each about equally, depending on what I'm making. Cons - it only came with two jaw sizes. Of the two, sometimes one is a bit small and the other a bit big, so I wish I could buy an intermediate size. I prefer the dovetails on the small jaws to the ribs on the larger, and wish it came with a dovetail as well. I've no interest in turning pens, so didn't buy the larger set, although will probably eventually buy the cole jaws (they seem expensive compared to the generic cole jaws available for Nova chucks), or maybe I will make some from plywood. Tips - My lathe doesn't have a shaft lock, and once I got the chuck stuck on the lathe. Took a while to unstick. After, I made a thin leather washer to use between the lathe and the shaft and haven't had a problem since. Conclusion - I would buy again. I do fine with a less expensive lathe, and am fine with this less expensive chuck. The problems I have had were generally user error and fixable by modifying my approach.

父親から譲り受けた木工旋盤のモーターが壊れていたので、モーターを外付けにして作りかえ中ですが、木材を咥えるチャックがなかったので探していました。３/４インチの主軸に合うアダプター付きであったので、購入しました。 まだ、完成していないので実際には使用していませんが、主軸にピッタリでした。これから楽しみです。

I have only used it a handful of times so far but I love it. It holds the wood extremely well and is easy to work with. I will not use the original chuck any more.
