Good glue
I started to dabble in music instruments so I got this to build my custom ukulele and it seems to work great so far. I would maybe say it needs bit more clamp pressure than I am used to but it just might have been my project or the fact that I am not really used to work with wood glues and usually used more permanent and never coming apart solutions before when working with wood. Overall great and traditional reversible with heat and moisture so dont try to clean the glued parts with hot water like me... I didn't know before that these sort of glues have relatively short expiration date of up to two years so maybe to keep in mind and buy size suitable for the project you are working on.

The best hide glue to use
If you use hide glue infrequently or don't want the faff of a hot glue pot this is the glue to use. I've used it over the years on violins, cellos and double basses and it is fantastic stuff giving a near original quality glue joint whether repairing damage or rebuilding an instrument. The latest was a longcase clock case which was in need of restoration and this I felt was the most appropriate adhesive to use. Tip: To make the glue flow better, put the bottle in a jug of hot water five minutes before use and it goes quite a bit more liquid, this makes getting a good even coverage very easy and it soaks into the wood structure better to give a super strong joint.

Excellent
A great way to use Hide Glue, without having to heat up the glue. Works great. I love it

THIS IS TRADITIONAL GLUE WITH ITS LIMITATIONS AND CAPABILITIES
This is ideal for the woodwork it was used on - antique restoration and soluble in alcohols. did what was intended and i now have a beautiful restored three leg table which in my gran's and then parent's house always had a wonkey leg - this AND modern screw technology made restoration practical.

Perfect for fixing a broken guitar headstock
I got this to help repair a guitar headstock that had broken in two - it was not a clean break, but had lots of jagged bits of wood and lacquered topsheet. Applying the glue was easy, plus the fact this is a water soluble wood glue means it can be washed off your hands once you're done applying it. (hence no stars for water resistance... not a relevant property for this item!). Guitar is back to normal - took 2 sets of tunes for the strings and newly bonded wood to "settle" and hold tune, but it's humming along well now. Do recommend using clamps to hold the joint steady for 24 hrs for a strong bond.

Be Warned!
If you order this check on arrival that it has a valid expiration date on it! Hide Glue will only keep for a couple of years, if there isn’t a date on it be suspicious. If it’s nearing its expiration date take great care. Wonderful stuff as long as it’s in date

Excellent hide glue
Great glue when you need a long open time or reversiblity (hot water plus a touch of vinegar will liquify it again). Be aware - liquid hide glue has a shelf life! Manufacturer states two years, in the right conditions you can get more. If you're unsure there are a few tests you can do: Put a dab of glue between your fingers then slowly open then - it should be spidery. Spread some glue on a piece of paper and let it dry, then try to bend it - it should crackle. The best test IMO though is to glue two pieces of wood together, let it cure overnight then try to break them apart. If the wood tears apart the glue is still good. If it just separates the glue isn't strong enough. Not worth ruining a project for a bottle of glue, buy new when in doubt and write the date you got it on the bottle.
