Frantic home made mush peas I order these regularly

Good for pea soup
Remarkably quick. Put in your slow cooker, add boiling water and, within half an hour it's all but done. Add a chicken stock cube, blend using a hand blender, and (if you have a mincer) add some minced bacon. Cook for a further ten minutes and you have perfect pea and ham soup!

Perfect mushy peas
Quick to prepare and delicious. I like to add some white pepper. You can choose how mushy you want them to be.

Not a fan of `acidity regulator' flavour.
Love the idea of quick cook, no soak marrowfat peas (and that they are). The contents of the pack I had were more pieces of marrowfat peas than whole ones, and thus more appropriate for mushy peas (which I'm not a fan of) Unfortunately, the taste of the sodium carbonate they use is far too strong (!), but if you like the taste of mushy peas which I believe has more of this sort of flavour in it anyway, it's probably not much of an issue for you. I could still taste it with a pack boiled into a thick soap with frozen sweetcorn, butternut squash, frozen broad beans and some other bits (never would guess it was a day when I was nearly out of fresh food! lol).
