How come the packaging is different than if I were to purchase from Sephora?

Packaging was the same as sephora sells. The box bottle comes in was the same and the bottle the cleansing oil comes in was the same. The film covering on the bottle was peeling off (like if it was sitting on shelf awhile). The cleansing oil was fine though. Was a good purchase and good value for the bigger size. Sephora only sells the smaller size. Hope this helps you.

Does this cleanser make sense to use if I dont wear makeup?

Yes, you can use this cleansing oil even if you don't wear makeup. Just massage oil over dry skin then add some water (it will become milky) massage then rinse. It will cleanse without causing any dryness. This facial cleansing oil attracts and removes pollutants and facial oils, it's not only for make up removal. Does not make skin oily. I have sensitive skin and never use any kind of soap or foaming cleansers on my face. I use facial cleansing oils only (I do not double cleanse). I'm told I have beautiful skin and I'm often asked what I do and I say I cleanse my face with facial cleansing oil. Another good facial cleansing oil that's not as costly as Tatcha is Clinique facial cleansing oil. Hope this information helps.
