Quality mace
20lbs never felt so heavy. Been using sledge hammer for mace work, wanted something heavier than the 10ld I was using. Its definitely a workout. Would recommend this. Will probley get a 10lb version next. Like the feel of this item. Like how thick the handle is.

Still a quality product even though arriving beat up.
I appreciate the quality of their products but the packaging for anything over ten pounds is extremely lacking and will most likely arrive damaged or will be returned by the shipping company. My second twenty pounder arrived like this and the first attempt was returned by the shipper. A discount on a future purchase would be nice considering.

Second macebell
I purchased a 10 lb Retrospec macebell a couple of years ago and just added a 20 lb one. They are both great for strength training.

Start light and move up slowly
For reference I'm a 50 year old 180lbs man. I started with the 10lbs mace, and I'm glad that I didn't get something heavier to start with. There's a steep learning curve, and 10lbs on the end of a mace feels MUCH heavier than I expected. The thickness of the bar and the knurling was perfect for a secure grip, and the quality is good. There are no seams or sharp edges. But after about 6 months of regular training (3 times a week), 10lbs became far too easy. It was so easy, that I figured I'd be able to skip past the 15lbs mace, and get the 20lbs one. That... was probably a mistake. The 20lbs mace feels about 3 times heavier than the 10lbs one. Also, the bar is much thicker, and the knurling is more mild. So it's harder to get a secure grip. The quality is still great, but I would recommend moving up in smaller increments.
