Orgran Vegan Easy Egg, 250 g

Taste is fairly mild but texture is quite eggy. Very quick and simple to make, only problem is that if you like custard-y scrambled eggs, these aren’t for you. They taste weird AF if you don’t cook them fully to the point where they’d be considered too solid if they were real eggs. Haven’t fully attempted an omelette but I imagine it’d be easy. 10/10 would egg again.

We're vegan and have used various egg substitutes which were fine. I thought we'd give this a try because of the good price and being a powder, we could take it with us when travelling. Ugh, what a mistake. I rarely throw food out, but I did with this. Far too salty, bitter, just not nice. A lot cheaper to just buy raw chickpea flour and make your own, because that's exactly what this tastes like and what it is. Oversalted chickpea (gram) flour. We don't expect vegan egg substitutes to taste like egg. We do however expect them to taste at least vaguely edible! Maybe we got a bad batch. It happens. I see that many reviewers found it just fine. But I don't think we'll be trying a second box. Back to scrambled tofu tomorrow!

I really love eggs and omlettes but they don’t like me..... I bought this product with the hope of being able to enjoy an omelette again.... i was suitably pleased with the result. It is easy to make, you do need a good pan as i have found it more sticky than ‘egg’ but the taste is really good and it’s healthy with low fat and high protein. I have been really pleased and will certainly be buying again!

These were easy to make and cooked quickly. No awful sulphur smell like some other brands! The texture was ok, they were mushier than proper scrambled eggs but not unpleasant. Initially tasting them I did not like them as they were sweeter than I expected. They also tasted like something I couldn't put my finger on which was probably from the chickpeas, and that taste certainly wasn't egg. However, once I tried them with beans and toast I really enjoyed them and polished off the lot. I can totally understand why there are a lot of negative reviews; by themselves they have a very strange flavour but it is easily masked. In short, are they like scrambled eggs? No. Are they a good substitute if you can't eat eggs? Yes.

This is much better than the liquid vegan egg. It takes a second to prepare and it makes a good scramble. I also bake it to get a kind of poached egg (white) texture.

Poor quality

I have used Red Mill Egg Replacement since I became a vegan, which is great for cooking and baking. This said you can make scrambled egg ish and omlettes so I thought I would give it a go. Oh my word. I followed the instructions and made scrambled egg. It was so salty it made me gag. I haven’t used it since, I brought two more packets of Red Mill and decided to continue to live without scrambled egg ish. I have given it a couple of stars for effort, I welcome any vegan options, but this is not for me. In the days of fishless fingers, beef less burgers etc, I am certain someone can come up with a decent eggless omelette eventually. I’ll wait…….

As a vegetarian of 30 years, I have been toying with the idea of going vegan and I’m gradually giving up egg. I was so excited to get this to try and replace scrambled eggs. Portion size is great, it’s easy to make and by sight you could think it was egg but the taste is really odd. I didn’t get any “egg” flavour, even with generous salt and pepper, the whole thing tasted like raw beans, quite sour and not that nice. You never get a replacement that’s identical to what it is replacing, but this was so far off the mark. I don’t do cakes etc so maybe as just an ingredient it would work but as the main focus, I wouldn’t recommend.

So let me preface by saying that I’m not vegan so I don’t hace a vast plethora of experience with this veggie based nonsense. However, I DO have a pretty nasty (newly developed) egg allergy.....and dang did I miss omelettes! This stuff is amazing. Granted the texture and taste isn’t an egg nor will it ever will be but it’s close enough! (Think military or school lunch style eggs). Add some hot sauce and tear these bad boys UP! YUM. I’m not sure about the “surfer smell” that others complained of, yes it has a very mild odor before mixing but I had to literally put my nose in the bag to smell it. Also, I noticed that it was indeed my milkshake and not my fake eggs that brought all the boys to the yard. So prepare for that as needed. #OmnivoreApproved! Side note, this is clearly not an American product so be familiar with milliliters and grams for the preparation and use medium heat! It looks like pancake batter and cooks like it too.

Ich verstehe die negativen Rezensionen nicht, wenn es mit Salz und Pfeffer gewürzt wird, (geräucherten Tofu dazu anbrät, ) schmeckt das wunderbar. Die Konsistenz ist fluffig. Es ist einfach zu mixen. Ich kann es definitiv weiterempfehlen.

Tiene buen sabor, es suave y de lo mejorcito en este tipo de productos. Lo compre para probar y voy a repetir. Lo recomiendo
