Laser and Blade Cutting in a (fairly) Compact Package
Okay folks buckle in, this may be a long one (but hopefully helpful)! First here's what you need to know about my use and reasons for getting this machine: - I am a Paper Artist who specializes in Quilling, Paper Sculpture, and Miniature Flower Bouquets - The space I have to work in is small and I do not have an outdoor space to do laser cutting - I previously have used a Atomstack 5W Diode machine and a Silhouette Curio for blade cutting - Due to the detailed nature of my flower designs, it is easier to laser cut them, so I can get cleaner cuts My business has grown recently and finding a way (and space) to cut the paper I needed was getting a bit out of hand. Cutting indoors with an uncovered laser is -- interesting -- and was a hassle to set up given that I needed to ensure I could vent the smoke and operate it safely. In addition my previous cutter had USB operation only, which meant I was uncomfortably connected to it whenever I wanted to do something. At the same time, I was experiencing issues with my Curio, which started me on the search to find something new. I stumbled upon the M1 when it first came out and knew it was what I needed, but it was, at that time, a bit out of my price range. As my business has taken off, the price has also gone down and I was finally able to snatch one up. Now, before I made my purchase I had a few burning (pun intended) questions and reached out to xTool. My enquiries were answered quickly and with care. The questions I had were 1) can I use my existing honeycomb with this unit and 2) can I use LightBurn. In relation to the honeycomb, the answer was probably not and they recommended I also purchase the riser unit which comes with a sizable honeycomb and allows you to use the rotary accessory. The second question was a flat out no. However, I see that you can now export M1 GCode to LightBurn. On to the actual unit! There is virtually no setup required, unless you get the riser (and yes, I did). The most important thing is to ensure the vent hose is properly connected. It comes with everything you need to get started, including mats, blades, and a sample pack of materials. Installation of the software is also easy. You then just connect up the machine first by USB and then you can connect the WiFi. Both went super quick and easy for me. No more being tethered to the machine! The software is user friendly for me (read: a person who is adept at design software and has used things like LightBurn). Another big difference between this and my previous laser, is that this has a predefined list of materials and their settings. I chose kraft paper, which was the closest to what I use. The camera preview is great and allows you to align things properly instead of guessing. The unit is super quiet and only slightly louder than my air purifier units. It also holds in and vents the smoke so well, I rarely get anything more than a whiff of the scent. Overall, I am super pleased with my purchase of both the M1 and the Riser unit with honeycomb. They are well made and well supported.

Turned into a waste of money
The design of the lighter is excellent, its slimline and comfortable in your hand. That being said, the battery life of the lighter is no more than a few hours. This lighter that brought for myself and my son, now sits in a draw as another discarded waste money. It doesnt even last full day, even after charging it overnight. Buyer be ware, it is not worth the money, but it is your choice.

Lots of fun
I got this as a gift for my wife and she loves it. She has used this for several projects cutting designs into wood including a really neat keychain. It was a very easy set up. The software has a lot of resources online. She has had so much fun using this for her crafts.
