what is the smell like?

It doesnt smell bad, I like the way it smells. It has a sort of light fruit smell, I guess would be the best way to explain it.You will notice it in about 2 to 3 applications. It is very gradual change Hope this helps

Wait a minute..... what is normal skin? dark skin isn't normal?

Dove would be implicating that pale skin and tan skin are extremes and the baseline is "normal" aka not pale or tan. Therefore, this would step you up from normal to dark... pale -> normal -> dark... if you are going for that look. A lot of triggered people in the comments and reviews for some reason, but this is actually a decent product.
