These brushes do not break or pull our my hair like the new "boar bristle" brushes do. I was losing a lot of hair and realized that it started when I changed to the composite of thin nylon and boar that claim to be 100% boar. True boar are very soft and have never broken my hair or pulled it out. So I have returned to these and Denman brushes. But I like the round ones like this for styling to give lift and wave to my hair. This one is just the right circumference.
