Q: Can you leave it on an open porch during the winter months?

Honestly I wouldn’t recommend it. I left them out on the rain for a couple days and I noticed some oxidation on the inner part, as Water goes into them through the connecting parts. If you cover them you should be goood to go.

17 inches wide by 20 inches deep.

Q: I need assembly instructions for these chairs

There are easy to follow instruction in the box they come in. I am 68 years old and not at all mechanically inclined and I was able to put them together without any problems.
