since it is made of vynil it is easier to wipe the outer cover which you can take it off (ther is a zipper). The only problem is that is kind of tricky to put it on again. If it is really dirty you can hand wash the cover. I haven't tried to wash the foam that comes inside but I think it is washable if you wash it by hand with a gentle soap and let it air dry.

Is the vinyl non toxic or free of chemicals?

I do not know specifically, but it did not have any strong odor (or weak) when it arrived.

Does this product include the pillow AND the waterproof slipcover?

Kind of... It's a waterproof covering but not removable. Just wipeable which is all you need. I purchased a cloth cover for over the top which i took off to wash when needed. Without the cover things can get a bit sweaty for bubs but i guess it depends how quickly they can feed, and perhaps the season/your climate too - direct skin on cover no good but layers of clothing between would be fine

Do you need a slipcover with the professional? Does the deluxe slipcover fit?

no, you dont need extra slipcover, but any cover from same brand will fit such as the deluxe slipcover. It is just tricky (kind of hard) to change it. You will have to take the blue vinyl plastic cover first and then put the deluxe one over the foam underneatf I did that once since I had two of these brest friend "pillows". However this blue cover that comes with the professional is made so you can wipe it clean instead of washing it. Nadia S
