Ready to go out of the box
Purchased radio and Browning 450 UHF antenna. Arrived on time and in good condition. Very well built with metal case. Power cables could be a couple feet longer, but easy enough to splice more wire and extend. Owners manual is clear and not being a radio tech, easy to follow directions. Took a couple of hours to wire and install in my F-150 pick-up. Was able to go on-line and find local GMRS repeaters and add the correct tones to the repeater channels via the hand mic programming. Was able to get a couple of replies back from other GMRS radio operators some 70 miles away (thru a repeater 30 miles away). I live in the Cascade foothills in Washington State near Mt. Rainier. Said the radio was loud and clear. SWR meter showing a strong 56 watts output on high power. I am still learning about all the options available to program. Radio has some great features that I am learning about. As a local CERT team member, this is a great inexpensive radio for communications. Other team members have the older version and are talking about switching up to the new version. All channels are programmable and scan-able for unlimited GMRS repeater entry's and local emergency VHF and UHF frequencies can be entered to scan and monitor. Radio does have the roger beep function, I have seen several reviews that says it doesn't......its a programmable function. Haven't found anything I don't like about the radio. Great little radio!!

Exellent radio.
I had a 25 watt transceiver that I was using to hit a repeater about 40 miles away, and wanted something with a little more power. This one is doing the job, nicely. I like that it can be programmed using CHIRP software. I also bought one for my son, who is just getting into GMRS radio. Very satisfied.

Pretty good radio.
This radio is worth the price. Audio is decent and output wattage is as expected. Mine is close enough to 50. I think it registered 48 watts a few weeks ago. The control knobs are awkward. I'd prefer the power/volume on the left and the channel selector on the right but it's not a big deal. It scans vhf & uhf slow, but good enough. Receives vhf and uhf very well. It was easy to program via pc with the accessory cable (not included). I have transmitted quite a lot with a gmrs group, and I'm told the radio is very clear. Using a Midland antenna, 6 dB gain. This radio is more versatile than my 2 Midland MXT500's, but not as rugged. Not as expensive either. 210 vs 400, however the Midland includes an antenna and two extra feet of connection wire. I had to add wire to install the B-Tech in a K5 Blazer. The B-Tech is a good radio. If price isn't a factor, I'd recommend the MXT500 for ruggedness, reliability, and simplicity. If you're looking to spend less and want the option to scan vhf public safety, then this B-Tech is great.

Fantastic radio, exceptional customer service
This radio is outstanding. It has a quality build and is a great sounding radio. It is easy to program and the user manual is easy to navigate while providing all the capabilities you need. I had one minor issue with the hand held mic. I contacted customer support (on the weekend too) and the responded to my message within 10 minutes via email. The shipped me out a replacement hand held mic which arrived quickly. Shout out to Katy, thank you. I also own their BTECH RPS-30M regulated power supply that powers my BTECH 50V2 with zero issues. Overall I am pleased with the company, their products, and the superior customer support. I will continue to purchase products from this company.

Do your research
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this radio. When I first got mine , I connected to my outside antenna , new , fed with lmr400 , so I tried some repeaters ( with the correct tones) , I could bring them up , but could not hear any of them. My first gmrs radio , I just figured gmrs must suck because I can hear nothing. So , I let it sit and bought a different radio , much cheaper , now I can hear repeaters and simplex . So I hooked the Btech radio back up , same tones, power supply , feedline, antenna and once again , can hear nothing. I finally contacted Btech , of course they tried to say I was doing something wrong . I have been a amateur radio op for over 30 years , I know a little something. I told them I swapped radios and I can hear , connect the Btech / nothing , even at zero squelch. Now , if I am 10 foot away with an ht, it will receive. I sent it back for repair , as I left it sit too long for a refund , cost me $25 to ship it back. I get a replacement, same thing / it transmits great , as advertised, frequency is right on , they just have no receive unless you are right next to the source. Like I said , same everything , other radios connected, all is great , Btech connected / total nothing even at zero squelch. I'm not wasting another $25 to ship it back again , that would line me up at $50 wasted . My buddy has been through this same ordeal , only he has 2 of them just sitting. They are worthless for receive , they transmit great , they feel great , seem heavy duty , but they are horrible on the receive side. I say stay away from this , I have been through 2 now , both same issue , my buddy has been through 4 now , all have the same issue / no receive. I'm not one to post usually , I just am tired of playing this silly game , as my buddy got tired of the game also , so yes , we have 3 worthless radios just sitting , as we can't use them / they would be great one way radios , transmit only. I just don't want to see anyone else get stuck like we did .
