This little is great! I returned it based on purchase error.i envisioned attaching it to something as a gift not realizing it needs a box to create louder noise so it’s pretty quiet considering that. I loved the little song tho. Totally user error. But if you’re crafting a box or already have one for a the music mechanical piece it would be a good purchase.

I picked up a Christmas decorated birdhouse at a thrift store that had a broken music box it. I read the reviews on this item and saw a bunch of complaints on how quiet this one was. Sure. It was quiet when testing it. But as soon as I mounted it in the bird house box, it became super loud. The box acts like a speaker/amplifier. Very happy with my purchases.

I bought a jewelry case for my daughter that had a music box built in. The music box broke, so I figured out how to extract it and replace it with another one. We haven't had any problems with the replacement music box, and it was nice to get to change the tune to something more meaningful as well.

My daughter found a snowglobe at a thrift store. The music didn't work because it had been over wound. Bought it and and found this as a replacement. It was a perfect fit and works like new. The only thing that I did find was the replacement turn key was a hair too tall for the legs on the snowglobe's base. So I just swapped it out with the original key that was shorter. I'd definitely buy these again to repair another. Comes with new mounting screws and plenty of mounting holes to fit anything.

The music box sounds exactly like the one that was in my snow globe. It is perfect and was easy to install.

I have a "Wizard of Oz" snow globe- had it for years & it needed restoration. Once I disassembled it, I realized that the old movement no longer worked. This one is a perfect replacement. It plays "Over the Rainbow" as the old one did. It sounds just as expected & was easy to install- just 2 screws & the wind-up key. Now my snow globe looks AND sounds like new.

Sankyo offers very high quality musical movements with a range of songs, though some songs are more difficult to find. The sound is very clear when you choose the right box to resonate the melody. The only downside with this product involves the screws & key included; the key & screws are short, designed for plastic/acrylic/resin boxes with a thickness of 5 mm, as well as countersunk holes to accommodate the two countersunk screws. However, brass screws of any head type, so long as they are metric M3 screws of an appropriate length for your box's thickness (which are easy enough to find).
