PREMIER SEEDS DIRECT - HERB Seeds - Wormwood - Artemisia Absinthium - 5000 Seeds

I failed on my first attempt using half of the packet seeds putting vermiculite on top. The second attempt was more successful using john innes seed and cutting compost. The seeds are so fine that they don't require covering. I sowed them in a cold propagator and they seem to be coming on nicely.

I bought these wormwood seeds for my herb garden. Wormwood is slightly tricky to grow as the tiny seeds need access to light, and also need to be kept moist. Watering these seeds will typically wash them away. I planted the seeds in a pot on top of a fine compost/soil mix and used a fine water spray to keep them moist. They germinated in 7-10 days and I have since potted them on. If you take care, these low cost packs of seeds are excellent value for money.

I'm no expert and I germinated the seeds in flat trays indoors - didn't really understand "sow lightly" so just halfed the seeds into two trays - followed instructions online not to cover - they germinated quickly but I kept them indoors on a window ledge - planted out about a month ago - wow - really happy with results many thanks

I would have expected much more plants coming out from my pots, considering the amount of seeds I planted. Of 5 pots only 3 artemisia plants in one pot and 1 in the other...well 4 plants are better than none, but considering how many tiny little seeds I used for each pot is not really good enough...but on the positive side I still have plenty seeds left which I will try to plant in the garden instead this year...I wanted to avoid that because I read that Artemisia is very much like a grass that multiply very easily and didn’t want to risk to infest my garden with plants hard to get rid of. Fingers crossed ;)

I do like the whole range of Premier Seeds Direct seeds. They are a good price with good germination rate. The packaging is minimal and the employees are paid the living wage.

I tried to grow 2 times in July & August. They all came out as some kind of weed. The leaves are round shape. Not Wormwood herb.
