The correct shading that I wanted

I was doing a split dye with two midnight colors, Ruby and Onyx. Ruby applied with no problem though didn't really rinse clear. Onyx didn't completely dye my hair. I thoroughly coated my hair and used a mirror to check and make sure everything was covered. I left it on for one hour. When I rinsed, the Onyx rinsed really clumpy and in chunks. I did everything the same between the two colors yet this one did not take 100% and I have chunks of undyed hair now. It's entirely possible I got an old box and I admit I didn't check any expiration dates, so just be wary.

Great Quality product not harsh on scalp or skin get a shiny smooth hair after using Splat dye. Quantity is good you get a 8 oz bottle of hair dye and a packet of conditioner. Great value for the money. Lasts pretty long about 4 weeks unless you wash it every day lol.

Beautiful black!! But BLEEEDS! MADE MY BLONDE PARTS TURN GREY GREEN PURPLE. Also my bathtub is covered in blue now it stains when washed off HELLA

I've been a Splat user & completely happy with it for about 15 years. I just tried the "No bleach needed" black dye. I left it on until it dried, like I always do, then washed it out. ALL of it washed out. Not a single bit of black stayed in my hair. Highly disappointed. I deal with chronic pain, can't afford to go to a salon, so dying my own hair takes a lot out of me, only to find it didn't stick. I tried L'Oreal years ago & it was black black & stayed a very long time. In a month, I'll try bleaching & then dying to see if it works, if not, I'll go back to L'Oreal. It dyed my shower blue, but nothing stayed in my hair!

Gets the job done! Beware of skin staining and dark pigmentation on surfaces though. Other than that, pretty good 👍

I received this hair dye the first time damaged with it all leaking through the box. Then we had to wait again until they sent me a replacement. My daughter was so excited for this color. However it is the worst hair dye ever. It stained everything and after 2 washes , my daughters hair coloring is almost entirely gone. She even avoided the pool because she wanted it to last longer. It looked great the 1st day and even after the first wash. 2nd wash and its almost back to the normal color. Most of it is gone. Avoid this hair dye unless you only want it colored for a few days. What a waste of money and time! We bought other colors of splat and never had this problem

This dye use to be my favourite They changed it I washed my hair 3 times and it’s all washed out It’s not the same as before

I have white roots and after 1 hr it only turned them a purplish red. And my tub surround and tub and sinks have blue stains that will not disappear with bleach. Not worth my security deposit for a color that I didn't even want

Where do I even start. The product is a paint. Literally paint. It got absolutely everywhere and stained my skin and my shower. It stuck to everything except for my roots. I look ridiculous. I had to send my husband to the store for something else so I could fix it without being seen in public. I did black and it was only really a root fix and some bold color and gloss. My hands and feet are blue. My scalp and face are blue. My hair has never been softer. I’m actually kind of curious whether it was the paint or the conditioner. If it’s just the conditioner then I have an amazing review for that.
