Good Flavor, Good Quality - Pepitas from China
I tried both the "All Good Antioxidant Mix" and the "Dipped Almond" products. The All Good Antioxidant Mix is quite good. The salt is pretty minimal, but I don't miss it due to the chocolate almonds, and dried fruit. Everything tasted fresh, including the hazelnuts. There aren't many pepitas (pumpkin seeds) in the mix, which is a bit disappointing, and it's not just that they were settling at the bottom. The Dipped Almond one has very, very thick chocolate coating. The flavor is again, quite good. The chocolate is slightly sour (normal amount for American chocolate), and not too bitter, with a good balance of sweetness that goes well with the almond. I ordered both January 2022, and the bas are marked with best by dates of December 2023, so 11 months expiration from order. The mix contains products from Turkey, USA and China (Pepitas). The Dipped Almond is distributed by a company in the USA, but the country of origin is not indicated.

Nice concept, oily trail mix.
So, I love that they give back. As a teacher, I feel like I'm hyper-aware of childhood hunger, given the number of times over the years I've had to quietly make sure a kid got the food they needed. Unfortunately, the trail mix itself is not my favorite. Part of the reason I picked it is because I love hazelnuts, but the hazelnuts in here just seem really...oily, for lack of a better word, which makes the overall trail mix feel oily. The dark chocolate and Himalayan salt almonds are delicious, but having the plain roasted almonds in there with them is kind of overkill. The tanginess of the cherries and cranberries is a great contrast, but the flavor of the blueberries, while it would be good on its own, feels a bit overpowering and out of place in this mix. Overall, it seems like someone chose all the ingredients based on them fitting in the antioxidant category, rather than because they taste good together. I wouldn't get this one again personally, but would definitely give other things from the brand a try!
