Does this really create a protective film. ?

Yes, it really worked for me. I had mouth ulcers when I was in Lanzarote and this is where I first bought this from a Chemist. when I was going out to eat I used this stuff and it was excellent and I continued to use it every time I went for dinner. It was painful for a few seconds then went numb. When I got home I order it from Amazon incase I ever needed it again.. I have never had mouth ulcers again. So it definitely worked for me.
