There’s not much to say about this other than it does exactly what it claims. I’m running this on the Z 40mm F2 and it doesn’t have any vignetting, and protects the lens great. The stock Nikon lens cap also works great with it, I would gladly buy again! The metal build / threads and coating on it both look great and seem super durable while being pretty lightweight.

I bought this for a Nikon z 40mm f2. Threads match perfectly and it lets me put the lens cap on. Light and sleek. Lens design doesn’t allow for mounting backwards like some of the hoods for bigger lenses but that makes sense given the shape of this lens. Would recommend! I tried one other brand before finding this and thought it was going to damage the threads on my lens d/t bad fit. Glad I found this one!

I got this Haoge metal lens hood specifically for the 40mm kit lens that comes with the Nikon Zf. It fits perfectly with no issues, and the screw-on design feels secure. The build quality is solid metal and feels way more premium than you'd expect at this price. It also adds a nice touch to the overall look of the camera without being bulky. Highly recommend if you want a clean, functional hood that complements the Zf’s style and does its job well.

Awesome lens hood! The Nikkor Z 40mm f2 does not come with a lens hood. This is the perfect hood for this fantastic little lens. The Haoge hood is well made with an anodized exterior surface that matches the lens perfectly, and a non-reflective interior surface. The diameter is perfect for the lens- just a small bit larger than the lens diameter. There are threads inside the aluminum hood that accommodate a 52mm filter, so the whole assembly doesn’t add more than about 3/16 length. This is a must buy item for this lens, and I have read that it fits several other Nikkor lenses equally well too. The sun shading along with the additional protection, and a handy surface to steady your lens while shooting- it’s not often that in inexpensive accessory provides so much value.

Sturdy slim design and perfect for my Nikon ZF NIKKOR lenses. I was especially happy that the hood has a thread on the inside. So I can screw on a 52mm UV / CPL / ND filter into the hood, and then screw the hood onto the lens directly. (I’m using a 52mm Hoage UV filter for extra lens protection from dust etc.). Makes changing the hood quick and easy between the 40mm and 26mm NIKKOR lenses that I own. Based upon other reviews, it also works on the 28mm lens. And the lens cap still fits. Looks great on the ZF and protects my lenses.

I used this hood on a Nikkor Z 40mm f/2 SE lens. It doesn’t do much except from provide a small amount of protection against frontal impact, and hinder attempts to place lens caps and filters. The hood is sturdy metal, but doesn’t do much beyond provide a reminder where not to place your fingers. It’s not deep enough to shield your lens from errant glare.

I’ve never been comfortable without a hood to offer at least some bump protection to the exposed glass of my lenses, and whether it’s needed or not with today’s coatings, I like the look of a hood. This screw-on hood is well-made and fits perfectly. It reminds me of the old days when my Pentax Takumar lenses didn’t have bayonet-mount hoods. Money well-spent.
