Bought this POWTECH 6 ft appliance extension cord to use with a window air conditioner, and it has worked perfectly. I wanted something heavier duty than a standard household extension cord, and this definitely feels much more solid and reliable. The 14-gauge wire gives me peace of mind when running larger appliances. The cord stays cool during use and the plugs fit tightly into both the outlet and the appliance without feeling loose. I also like that it’s UL listed and grounded since I’m using it with higher-powered equipment. The 6-foot length was ideal for my setup — long enough to reach the outlet without having a bunch of extra cord laying around. The insulation feels durable and thick compared to cheaper extension cords I’ve bought in the past. I bought this cord to use as an extension for for my portable AC unit that requires 1450 watts, 115 volts and pulls 12.5 amps. It works perfect. Please note, I have read it is NEVER recommended to use an extension cord with a portable AC unit, as they draw so much amperage which can risk a fire situation. That said, I was very careful with monitoring after installation. This power/extension cord never became hot and barely became warm. It's rated for appliance use and has worked perfectly for my needs. Please be sure if you choose to use an extension cord, ALL of your connections are tight and secure (AC unit > extension cord, Extension cord > wall outlet). This review is NOT an endoresement to use an extension cord with your appliances, do so at your own risk. However I can say this one has worked perfectly for me and I feel comfortable going to sleep with my AC unit on.

Perfect for ac unit just the right length

Appears to be durable and once in use, this item seems to handle the electrical current accurately and safely. The length is satisfying for use in my home and not a trip hazard and easy to safely discard without being noticeable. Good product and I would recommend this item to anyone who is in need of a strong electrical accessory in any type of living quarters.

Purchased this for my treadmill. I'm using it in my garage, and needed an extension cord that I could plug into the ceiling outlet and run across the ceiling and down the wall. Works great and does not get overheated like a regular extension cord.
