Are the seats fixable from top only. I have a concealed toilet and unable to get hands underneath

No Stephen it has screws that need to be fitted underneath as well as the top so it probably would be no use for your loo.

Is that a soft close type seat?

Is it varnished and water proof?

There is a shine to the surface, so that is probably varnished. Water proof - it has direct contact with water so I would have thought it would be waterproof. It’s a fab, well made, fun loo seat.

Is the timber toilet seat is light grey difficult to tell in the picture

The marble grey toilet seat is a very pale grey, I had hoped for mid grey but it is quite pale. Hope that helps.
