I have so many of these
If you're laser etching, you need a stash of these at all times. You can use them to protect your laser's bed, you can test settings, they make great business cards, excellent for test burns, they are just all around useful. I've even cut out earrings for girls I know out of them. Something to keep in mind is that they are sharp around the edges, so you might need to sand them down if you want to make business cards. I'd pay extra if the maker of these cards could round those edges for me. Also you need to MAKE CERTAIN you remove that plastic film! Just scratch a corner and you should be able to pull up enough to pull the film off easily in one go. Never pay more then 50 cents each for these. You'll be blowing through ALOT of these things!

Good quality
Used them a lot with a diode laser. They made great little gifts on the job site.

Thin, but sturdy.
work well for light laser work. will warp under higher heat, slower speed. Each side has a protective layer one needs to remove before working the surface. Nice for testing ideas or small project pieces.

Make sure you remove the plastic before laser engraving
When I first opened the package I was a bit upset and going to leave a bad review. It looked like most of the plates were scratched. It wasn't until I started calibrating my laser on these that I realized they shipped with a plastic coating, and only the coating had the issues. The actual material is great! I got the 0.5mm version and is great for me to do some testing with, but if going to use for business card type of thing, might want a thinner one. I did a 2 pass color test with my fiber laser and couldn't be happier. However, make sure you have a way to clamp it down as the heat from the laser did have it warp a bit that will effect the color output.

Works great for TIG coupons
I bought these to use as TIG welding coupons and they are great quality and are individually protected with plastic so itโs a good alternative compared to actual stainless coupons.

Not a good product
Engraver warps metal, too thin, just taking the plastic off bent the cards. Some came bent. They work okay. Size is just bigger than the normal business cards, and way more rough. 2/10 would not buy again. Way too expensive for these

Some pretty big flaws
#1: One of the sides of cling wrap was fused to every card. Required laser (iffy about funes) or acetone (ok def bad fumes). No amount of razor blading or other techniques got anywhere. It's literally just fused. Giant annoyance and mess. #2. The cards are consistent quality and they are stainless steel. Brushed, not mirror finished, but not too far of. Stnls steel is not magnetic (or very weakly). But it obviously is based on its engraving properties. The big issue is not their fault. But .5mm stainless steel sucks. It is very hard to do anything without warping them from heat without going extremely slow. I am an experienced fiber laser operator with a 100W JPT MOPA machine and I am convinced that the reason .5mm is rare is because it's an annoying in-between size that is hard to cut without scorching or engrave/mark without warping. (See photo). .8mm steel works fine and you can work fast without warping with a little bit of caution and trial and error. But they are a quality .5mm stainless steel card . If you can get the plastic off. Do NOT heat the card and try to melt it loose with direct heat or a heat gun or dryer. It just made the glue turn to mush so even w acetone those were a pain.

I would have given this product 5 starts, but..
The 304 stainless is as stated, but the quality of the punching leaves a bit to be desired (most likely dull punch/die combination). The corners are all slightly deformed from the punching process, this is indicative of dull punches/dies or improper setup of the machine doing the work (yes, I did used to work in a shop where NC punching was done and flaws like this would have never passed our QC process). They are serviceable after sandwiching in between a couple of 1/8" stainless plates and taking a brass hammer to them, but I should not have to do that kind of post processing to get flat blanks. These were purchased to make high end laser engraved business cards, so perfection counts. Post processing or not, I will most likely be buying them again when the need arises.
