What are the band measurements for the size small and medium? I am in between sizes sometimes and don’t want such a tight fitting band

The band width in my new size SMALL bras is 26 inches.

I wear a 42dd what size will i need

I'd suggest the largest size, but I'm not sure even that will be comfortable for a double-D, especially if your ribcage measures 42 inches. These bras could feel a little too snug, and compress your breasts too much. My advice is to order that size and see how it fits. From my experience, these bras stretch a bit with wearing. So, as long as you can pull them on and not feel too pinched, they may "relax" into a size and support level that works for you. Worst case, you can return them.

Has anyone machine washed, hang to dry?

U can dry these in the drier or hang to dry, I've done both an they come out just fine.
