RYAN She’s a distraction, that’s what she is. I’m the newest Captain of the Devils, Chicago’s NBA team, and the last thing I needed this year was for Indy Ivers, my sister’s best friend, to move into my apartment. She’s messy, emotional, and way too tempting. But when the team’s General Manager vocalizes his blatant disapproval of my promotion to Captain, referring to me as an unapproachable lone wolf with no work-life balance, I can’t think of a better way to convince him otherwise than pretending to date my outgoing roommate. The only problem? Faking it feels far too natural. Having a fake girlfriend wasn’t supposed to be messy but having Indy under my roof and in my bed is complicated, especially when she wants all the romantic parts of life that I could never give her. INDY I never imagined I’d be living with my best friend’s brother, NBA superstar Ryan Shay. Even more unbelievable? He needs me to act as his loving girlfriend who’s suddenly changed him into a friendly and approachable guy. Because, well…he’s not. He’s controlling of his space and untrusting of others. Our arrangement isn’t one-sided, though. I’m in a wedding coming up, one where every one of my childhood friends, including my ex-boyfriend, will be in attendance, and there’s no better date than my ex’s celebrity hero. Blurred lines make it almost impossible to separate real from fake. Falling for my roommate was never part of the deal, especially when Ryan is quick to remind me that he doesn’t believe in love. I’m a romantic and can’t help fantasizing that he’ll change, but soon enough, I find myself questioning if sharing a roof with my best friend’s brother was the right move after all Review: Pulled at my Heart Strings!! Best Book Series!!!
Book 2 in The Windy City Series MCs: Ryan and Indy Okay so how do I start? When I picked up Mile High, I did not know what I was getting myself into. But oh boy, I have to say that book stole my heart. I was so excited to continue the series, but held off from reading it sooner, because I was waiting for July for the 4th book to release so I could read books 2, 3 and 4 together. I really have to say Liz Tomforde, I love you! Liz’s writing and story building is so beautiful. When I was introduced to Ryan and Indy as side characters in Mile High, I had a complety different perspective of them. But reading The Right Move, it was a very fresh perspective of the two characters. Yes, you may say this is because they were side characters in the first book; however, I believe, despite Ryan and Indy being side characters, they were extremely strong characters. Going into this book, I did not expect to see so many different layers of both Ryan and Indy. But that being said, it was nice seeing a different side to the loving brother and happy-go-lucky friend. I loved the book as a whole, but there were so many elements that made the story even more beautiful. Like the simple things, such as making her coffee and putting it in the fridge for it to cool down (you will have to read the book to understand the meaning behind this); to having vegetarian options at home and taking a vegetarian option for Indy on their camping trip. Talking of the camping trip, I loved the second half of chapter 15, Ryan and Indy’s heartfelt conversation in bed. There were many more small gestures like I mentioned that you see throughout the book; these were the ways they showed their affection for each other without expressing themselves through words. But of course there were some bigger gestures related to the health insurance etc (won’t be going into details as I do not want to give any spoilers). But it was gestures like these that made their relationship so so beautiful; it showed they understood their partner and their needs. And not just the relationship between the two MCs, but getting to see Ryan and Zanders relationship develop and see more of Ryan and Stevie’s bonding was a treat; just the simple thought of wanting their children to grow up together, was so adorable. And of course Indy and Stevie’s friendship just continues to bloom into a beautiful flower; I loved the daily updates. I don’t even think my words do justice to the book or my feelings for this book and this series. But what I can 100% say is I love this book and after the high expectations I had following Mile High; The Right Move did not disappoint at all. Lis Tomforde you are a gem. If you have not read this book/series; what are you waiting for? Get yourselves to a book store or the Amazon website and buy them, you do not know what you are missing out on.

⭐ The Standard for Sports Romance 💙🏀✨
The Right Move — Liz Tomforde ⭐ 5/5 The Right Move is easily one of the best sports romances I’ve ever read. Everything in this story feels perfectly balanced — nothing is rushed and nothing feels slow. At no point did I feel bored with the story. The romance and the conflicts are very well developed, and there’s no unnecessary drama. The writing flows naturally and makes the whole book incredibly enjoyable. One of the things I love the most about the Windy City series is how it explores the emotional struggles of the male characters. Instead of portraying men as emotionally invincible or just the typical “alpha”, the story shows their vulnerabilities — their personal struggles, family relationships, and emotional growth. That depth makes the characters feel very real. Ryan and Indy are beautiful together. I love how Ryan respects Indy’s time and boundaries and the way he loves her so deeply. Their relationship feels healthy, supportive, and full of love — not only for each other but also for their friends and family. Such a wholesome and heartfelt love story. I absolutely loved it.

Loved the book so much
I loved reading this book so much. I finally got round to reading it after having it for months staring at me from my bookcase. And it was better than I could have ever imagined that it would be. Liz is amazing at writing books, and the Windy City series is a testament to that statement. Ever since reading the first book of the series, I have been utterly obsessed with Liz's writing, plot, and the characters she comes up with are amazing. This story follows Ryan, who is the twin brother of our FMC in the first book and her best friend Indy. Best friends brother is such a trope I love, and damn was it done so good in this book. I love these characters so much, and the tropes that went along with it were just so good. I love the fact that Indy moved in with Ryan due to his sisters meddling as Indy needed a place to live, and she guilt tripped the hell out of Ryan for it. The forced proximity because of this was so good. I love the personalities of Ryan and Indy, and they just deserve the world. They are so wholesome and had both been through some stuff from their past and deserved to be happy finally, and them being together was the reasoning behind why they finally got what they truly wanted in life. I can't wait to read the other books in the series and see this couple with their family.

He shares a close bond only with his twin sister, Stevie, and values his solitude. Indy, Stevie's best friend, finds herself in need of a place to stay after discovering her boyfriend's infidelity. Stevie convinces Ryan to let Indy stay with him. The gradual development of their relationship is truly beautiful to witness. Despite being complete opposites - with Indy being outgoing and messy while Ryan is reserved and neat - they complement each other perfectly. Their journey from strangers to lovers is expertly portrayed, with their communication skills shining through. Ryan's attentiveness and ability to express his love through actions are particularly noteworthy. Watching them navigate their differences and grow closer is a heartwarming experience. - R E V I E W - From the moment I flipped open the pages, this book had me utterly captivated. The praise I'd heard beforehand was absolutely warranted; it lived up to every bit of hype surrounding it. While Ryan Shay undoubtedly earns his place as the ultimate book boyfriend, let's not overlook Indy's charm. She's incredibly likable, sweet, kind, and an exceptional friend. Watching her journey and seeing her deserve the royal treatment from someone like Ryan was truly satisfying. This book ticked off every box on my wish list. It completely engulfed me, delivering brilliant tropes, superb writing, and an overall outstanding reading experience. Without a doubt, I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in search of their next must-read.

Oh Ryan Shay ❤️x
I enjoyed Mile High, but I adored Right Move. Ryan Shay is all types of beautiful. He is literally book boyfriend goals. I liked Ryan ever since he was introduced in Mile High but this book gave me all the feels. And his story is amazing and I want his quiet love. I love a forced proximity romance and this book delivers. We are also introduced to Indy in Mile High as Stevie's best friend and I loved her too. She's perfect for Ryan. When she splits up from her long term boyfriend and needs a place to stay Ryan reluctantly lets her stay with him. He's a man who likes his own space and being the Basketball Captain he likes to lay low. But he suddenly finds himself fake dating to Ivy to try and prove there's more to him than just basketball but it doesn't feel all that fake. I loved the journey these two characters weren't on. They were the perfect mix of tortured but made each other better. Their journey together was a rollercoaster but it was beautiful. I loved getting to read about Zanders and Stevie again also and I just loved catching up in this world again. Ryan Shay - Welcome to my book boyfriend Club.

What a ride 🩷
Oh, boy! Liz Tomforde delivered!!! This one is even better than Mile High. I've always had trouble picking out a heroine I can imagine I see myself in, but Indy is the first one... nurturing, emotional, romantic, loving romance books & sacrificing herself for her loved ones... & RYAN! Ryan, Ryan, Ryan, words would fail to describe how much I love his flawed perfection. What a ride! I have never clicked pre-order as fast as I did for the next one 🩷

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 Ryan and Indy
4.75⭐️ ✨Best Friend's Brother ✨Sister's Best Friend ✨Forced Proximity ✨Roommates ✨Fake Dating ✨Mental Health Rep ✨Basketball Player x Flight Attendant ✨“Sometimes the quietest love is the loudest.“✨ The Right Move is the second book in the Windy City series and it follows Ryan Shay and Indigo Ivers. Indigo moves into Ryan‘s place at his sister’s, Stevie‘s, insistence and disrupts his organised and lonely life with her colours and her mess. While they start out being not quite fond of each other they quickly find themselves in a fake relationship that brings them closer and closer together. After some time the question arises if the relationship is really as fake as they pretend it to be. And then there’s the point of the living arrangement only being temporary, aren’t they? ✨I absolutely adored this book, I loved it just as much as the first one and I can’t wait for the next. I love how Liz keeps including and representing different mental health struggles. How in this one, while for Ryan it was partially similar to Evan‘s struggles, he had a much harder time. Trying to always be the perfect man, not giving anything to make negative headlines about him, and now having the added stress of trying to be a good captain to the team. ✨I adored Indy‘s character, her being quite relatable for a lot of us book girlies. It was so funny how she made a “How to be a book boyfriend” bucket list for Ryan and how she used romance novels to escape reality. I also loved how she got Ryan back to feeling more and how she slowly brought him back to life while also struggling with her own issues like infertility, being cheated on, and being alone for the first time in 6 years. ✨Ryan was such a sweetheart, adapting his love language to whatever Indy needed, whether that were small things, like making her a coffee every morning, taking care of her when she was sick, or building her a new bookshelf and learning how to take care of her plants. I also loved how he made her a bucket list so that she could learn to be alone and not feel bad about herself and her situation. How he paid for her fertility treatment and how he bought them a house when they hadn’t even officially made their relationship real. I also adored his relationship with Stevie and how he later saw Evan as a brother. ✨"You can't stop being who you are because someone else thinks it's too much, Ind. He can go find less."✨

The best couple
This book represents a romance book from beginning to end, with evolving characters and a great timeline. The plot follows Ryan Shay, captain of the Chicago Devils basketball team, and Indy Ivers, a flight attendant and best friend of Ryan’s sister. After a painful breakup, Indy temporarily moves into Ryan’s apartment, which triggers a series of events including a faked relationship to improve Ryan’s public image and helping Indy cope with a wedding where her cheating ex-boyfriend will be. The dynamic between Ryan and Indy is the heart of the novel. Ryan, initially reserved, structured and square, is confronted by the chaos, warmth and color that Indy brings to his life. As they share space and experiences, both characters experience significant personal growth, blurring the lines between pretend relationship and genuine feelings. This book is, without a doubt, one of my favorite comfort books. It gives me peace every time I read it. Ryan and Indy’s story is simply adorable and both characters are so tender, real, and likable that it’s impossible not to become attached to them. Their connection is pure magic. What I love most is how Liz Tomforde builds the relationship bit by bit, with moments full of affection, chemistry and tenderness. From iced coffees to late night conversations as roomies, EVERYTHING is perfect. I love how she, fresh out of a long relationship, finds in Ryan a partner who respects her, listens to her and values her. Plus, it has some of my favorite tropes and is full of scenes that make you grin like a fool. I really enjoyed this book a lot. ✨ Fake dating ✨ Forced proximity ✨ Grumpy x sunshine ✨ Sports romance ✨ Best friend’s brother ✨ Roommates
