Top quality product
There are many alternate options but this cable provides power which makes a huge difference for a lot of devices. Sturdy quality, a great product.

Needs External Power
Bought this to significantly extend the reach of a barcode scanner in a retail environment. My fault as I didn't read the bumph well enough but it requires external power supply (at the far end of the cable which is a minor inconvenience). Otherwise a decent product that works a treat. Just took some bodging to get power to where it was required. In hindsight I could have used the 10m passive version had I measured properly, but you live and learn. Product would be more useful if the power connection was at the near end of the cable and not the remote end.

Plenty enough length for my needs
Wish I had purchased a USB 3 version but this lead is ok for it's current job and the quality is ok.

Good, but know what you're buying
I bought a 10m lead to connect my DLSR camera to my computer for remote imaging. It works just fine, and without any additional power.I've added some comments here in view of some of the negative reviews I've read. It's frustrating that, for reasons unknown, Amazon has removed the facility to comment on reviews, so you can no longer correct some of the misleading info that is sometimes claimed:(1) You should understand that the USB 2.0 specification has a lead limit of 5m, so theoretically anything longer isn't absolutely *guaranteed* to work. Having said that, with these leads with integral boosters it looks like most times it will. Look for a review mentioning success for the device you plan to use. Don't buy a lead longer than you really need.(2) Voltage drops across a long cable, so if extra power is needed it has to be at the remote end. This is an unfortunate consequence of physics and not bad design. You can use a portable USB power bank to plug in the supplied power cable if needed.
